Hi guys don’t mean to be a bother I’m just really nervous about whether I got the good or bad deferral can some one please let me know ?!?! heres what I got

Dear Jeremy:

Thank you for your application to the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts for Fall 2012. We are pleased that you have applied and are impressed with your achievements. However, our high application volume, coupled with the very strong credentials of our applicants in recent years, has contributed to an increasingly competitive admissions process. As a result, we are writing to inform you that your application is currently being deferred for further review.

While this is not the answer that you were hoping to hear, it is still good news. Your application is one of a group that remains under consideration. All final admissions decisions of admit, deny, or waitlist will be made no later than mid-April, 2012.

Please refer to the website [Information for Deferred Students | University of Michigan Office of Admissions](http://www.admissions.umich.edu/deferred) for FAQ’s about the admission process and what to do next. Strong fall semester or second trimester grades may improve your status in the deferred pool of applicants. Therefore, please ask your high school counselor to forward your fall semester or second trimester grades when they become available.

Be sure your U-M ID XXXXXXXX is on all materials submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Because you are in this select group, we hope your interest in Michigan continues, and we will keep you informed of our progress. You have our best wishes for an enjoyable and successful end of your senior year.

Sincerely,

Theodore L. Spencer

Associate Vice Provost and Executive Director

good/bad deferral is a myth. Just cope and do the best you can (and apply to additional schools!)

Michigan definitely rejects EA applicants, but not a large portion. That’s because the quality of the applicant pool is pretty high. The majority of the applicants have stron GPA/test scores.

People who are perpetuating this notion of “good deferral” and “bad deferral” really need to stop, theyre just stressing people out to the max. The threads from last year they link to don’t even back up their assertions. Ultimately, the most you can do is get good grades this semester in tough classes, and perhaps write your regional counselor to inform them of any new developments. That’s the most you can do. Stressing people out by telling them they have a bad deferral or giving them unsubstantiated hope that they have a good deferral is downright cruel.

oh I am sorry I posted about it I was just going on the notion of what others had said before

has anyone got any emails today?

@bystander…no e mail here either. You’re not the only one. We have till Dec 23 so we have to be patient :-(

Still no email over here.

Got deferred at UChicago.
