<p>A couple of years ago my in state daughter was deferred ED but ultimately accepted RD. She wrote a letter to Blackburn after getting deferred and he wrote back telling her that the most important thing she needed to do was the one thing that she actually had control over: bring her grades up. She did it (all As) and got in in the spring.</p>
<p>So there is hope for deferreds.</p>
