<p>I’m not sure that my daughter’s “stats” are particularly relevant at this point since she graduated high school in 2000. But, as I recall, she had just over a 1300 on the SAT, comparable SAT IIs (except for writing, which was higher), and a B+ overall average in high school. The key though, was that she started off slow (several Cs her freshman and sophomore year) and finished very strong. She also took at least 8 or 9 AP classes, and played a varsity sport. And she was in state.</p>
<p>She did not send another personal statement or recommendation. I doubt either (especially a recommendation) would make much of a difference for anyone.</p>
