<p>I well remember how difficult this wait is, and how LONG it feels, but remember that the moment you hear the wait will quickly become unimportant.</p>

<p>Also, try to remember that Northwestern Admissions has NOT broken a single promise to anyone here. They will have your decision by their published date. I’ll bet they are as eager to finish their process as you are to have an answer! </p>

<p>Some day you’ll look back on this whole process as one of the very interesting turning points in your life. Hang in there!!</p>

I don’t find it stressful. And it’s hardly irresponsible to not make a promise if one knows it may not be kept.</p>

<p>If you’re stressed, why don’t you chill out by watching a movie or something? I’ve been distracting myself the whole week and it’s certainly alleviated the anxiety.</p>

<p>Wouldn’t it be better to just stop freaking out about when these notifications are coming? Better to receive an email and a wonderful surprise than psych oneself out. And if it doesn’t pan out, at least you didn’t build it up with ridiculous suspense beforehand. Cool heels, everyone. It’s not like they won’t show up. They’re gonna be posted, and it’ll be sooner than ya know it. </p>

<p>LOL, it’s really funny because I was so convinced today was the day. Felt nervous all day, especially at 5:59. I couldn’t sleep at all last night. Wasted a perfectly good night of rest, haha! Any hope for tomorrow, maybe?</p>

<p>As a current member of the Northwestern Class of 2015, I’m just gonna be real with all of you. Stop fretting. Stop worrying. Stop getting angry that it didn’t come out today. Who cares? It won’t change anything. You get in, great. You don’t, you’ll find another great school to go to. It will all work out in the end and while that may be hard to grasp right now, after a year of reflection this time last year just seems ridiculously crazy and unnecessarily so. Also, NU doesn’t have to set a definite date…it isn’t irresponsible to not do so. They’re working as hard as they can to make all of this end (and trust me, with all the angry phone calls that will flood the office after decisions DO come out, it probably wont end immediately after everyone has their decisions). That being said, I’d expect decisions to come out 6pm Friday only because thats when the offices will be closed so they don’t have to deal with all the *****y and annoyingly hateful calls from upset parents and students. Take that with a grain of salt and good luck! But seriously, it isn’t the end of the world if you don’t get it in AND IT CERTAINLY ISNT THE END OF THE WORLD that NU didn’t give you all a precise date that decisions would come out. C’mon.</p>

<p>…So you can get it all out of your system. Because a year from now, many of you will have the urge to do the same before your last winter quarter final on the Friday before spring break.</p>

<p>I agree that it might be today afternoon and I would believe the people who claim their counselors called to verify it. But just wondering - is Saturday possible? Not really, right? Because it does seem weird that Northwestern would release the same night as UChicago would.</p>

<p>Either way - I love how passionate everyone is about Northwestern on here :slight_smile: It’s really nice to see the school spirit, and if we’re all lucky enough to get in, I hope all of the school spirit lasts throughout the 4 years and makes our Northwestern experience one to remember.</p>

<p>And @Hogwarts…: that was a truly classic email :stuck_out_tongue: Congrats on becoming God of the Campus - you seriously lightened everyone’s moods on here!</p>

<p>I think it’s going to be today for the following reasons:

  1. They would probably want to release their decisions before the Ivy Leagues do.
  2. UChicago is releasing their decisions today.
  3. They want to close the office and have the weekend off so that students/parents can calm down, resulting in fewer phone calls to their office next week.
  4. GOOD LUCK.</p>
