I was denied admission to Stanford, eventually. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful learning experience applying to such a great university in the United States. I wish everyone on the extended waitlist the best of luck and pray to god that at least some of you make through!

@eaten: I told you that you were in! I am very certain that you deserved it… Go Cardinal!!!

@Themust: I am from India! Maybe this was a weakling… excessive competition???

Denied. After getting in no where except my bottom three schools that I never imagined going to, I’ll be resorting to RISD. Full IB diploma, straight As, SC president for 4 years, varsity sports 4 years, 3rd in my class, selective awards each year, etc - all for an art school that I would have only considered going to if it was with the Brown/RISD dual-degree program.
I’m sorry guys I’m just really bitter right now.
I really wanted Stanford. I hope I can accept reality and move on.
Good luck to you all with college.

Congrats to those who were accepted! I look forward to meeting you in the fall :)

@lerica: did you apply to a variety of schools?

i think its something important for all students to know. if you are that type of applicant, you should be able to apply to safety schools knowing that you will 100% be accepted. i’m sorry for you, and its a sad story that i hear/read too many times.

@NJDS: I applied to mostly Ivies but definitely a couple matches and safeties. Didn’t even get into my matches. I’m still not over what happened but hopefully I will be soon. Thanks for your concern. Congrats and good luck at Stanford.

lericachung: is there any chance the match schools who denied you did so to manage their yield (Tufts syndrome)? Maybe they thought you were so strong an applicant that you’d be accepted to and eventually enroll in a higher ranked school? My friend’s daughter was a super strong student, but she got rejected by all the Ivies and peer schools like Stanford, and she got rejected by all the second tier schools too. So her parent actually called her favorite of the match schools that had rejected her and explained the situation. The school took her.

^Yes, unless someone rescinds his/her admission. At this point, all we can do is hope that some Stanford admittees on the waitlists at other schools get pulled off the waitlist and rescind their admission, though I doubt many–if anyone–will end up doing so.

I haven’t heard anything either, but I’m guessing they’re going to give us an update sometime this week. Because of bellatrixie’s friend, we know for sure there’s one spot open; perhaps they’re waiting to see if a few more spots open up before they send out the next wave of waitlist acceptances.
