Because there is not much else to comment on right now, I’ll say I don’t really like the US track outfits. The wavy red hint behind the blue strips doesn’t look sharp to me. I like the brighter outfits like the yellows and flags on them.
Katie Ledecky!!! The GOAT!!! And how about Paige Madden beating her PR by 5 seconds!
Katie was amazing! H and I were both standing up shouting at the TV.
Am I the only one watching all the women’s soccer? So many games in extra time.
The only game I watched in its entirety was the USWNT game. But yes it’s been a very good women’s soccer day!
Here’s a link from FIG (Federation Internationale Gymnastique–the worldwide governing body for gymnastics) that has the Code of Points (scoring system) for artistic gymnastics. It’s complicated.
If you are looking for more artistry in gymnastics, you should watch the rhythmic gymnastics competitions. These gymnasts are scored on execution, difficulty, and artistry. These gymnasts will compete Aug. 8-10.
Femke Bol ran a blazing 47.93 400 meters in that relay. like her feet were on fire.
Some of my favorite events! So beautiful yet so athletic.
I really enjoyed the feature they did on Normandy with so many living WWII service men and women. In the Company of Heroes. (Forgive the off-topic… it was shown in a break between sporting events.)
Watching the prime time coverage.
Did not know the 3rd place finisher in the 200 IM was DQ. Ugh! I’m sure she knew when she made that turn but kept on fighting.
So sad. This was the 3rd DQ I’ve seen in this Olympics. The others were for illegal kicks. This was an illegal turn.
I missed that when watching earlier today. Just saw it in the Primetime show. Heartbreaking.
Finally saw that Femke Bol leg. WOW. I feel sorry for Brown. Her little legs were churning against that long-legged Bol.
catching up watching the days events. Katie Ledecky is just insane! WOW.
Oh my… The men’s Archery gold medal bout between Kim Woo Jin of South Korea and Brady Ellison of the U.S. came down to the wire with the final “death arrow” – a sudden-dealth single shoot-off shot with the arrow closest to the center determining the winner. Kim’s win would give South Korea a sweep of gold medals in all five archery events, as well as an individual sweep in all three archery events that Kim competed in; Ellison’s win would mean a first ever gold medal in the Olympics for the U.S.
Kim’s death arrow shot hit the 10 marks but just inside the center, giving Ellison a narrow chance but still a reasonable chance as he’s been shooting off a bunch of 10’s to actually lead Kim all the way up to this point. Ellison’s shot, however, graced the line between 10 and 9, giving Kim the win. The distance from the archer and the target: 70 meters, more than half the length of a football field. The distance that separated their death arrows: 4.9mm.
Love the play by play!
Tom Kim wiping away tears in the scoring tent
Not over but rooting for Scottie. USA!
Golf, talking about golf!
Rant… both channels are showing bicyclists snaking their way through the cobblestone covered narrow streets… like there isn’t anything else happening anywhere at the Games.
Faulkner!!! On my feed this is not a declaration of the winner. But omg impressive.
OMG, the cycling is great and American is going to win. And she’s only been cycling for 7 years. Before that she was a rower at Harvard.
