What gymnastics drama!
We’ve been enjoying the olympics. We watched the women’s cycling road race and it was neat to see different parts of Paris and the surrounding areas, especially when they rode through the countryside and Montmarte.
We’ve also been enjoying the surfing which is in Tahiti and the beach volleyball right next to the Eiffel Tower and the Equestrian at Versailles. It’s so neat to watch and see these beautiful places. How neat for the athletes to get to compete in such scenic venues.
We’ve also been watching the swimming and gymnastics. The gymnastics has been fun. Some historic wins there. Brazilian women won their first gymnastics team medal and Italy won their first team medal since 1928. We also saw Kaylia Nemour win a gold and it’s the first medal won by an African country every in gymnastics! And of course it’s fun to watch the American Girls and it was great to see them win gold! Also, been enjoying watching Katie Ledecky too!
Wow, drama unfolded in the women’s 5,000 m. 
Amit Elor is incredible. She will wrestle for gold tomorrow.

Incredible! ABBA was playing in the background as the vaulters celebrated with their flags. 
The marathon will be brutal.

Has anyone caught any women water polo?
It was on a few times. The US women looked good/strong, but I haven’t seen it in a few days (I’m limited to what’s on NBC as I don’t have cable and they seem to think I like to see heat after heat of track races).

I was happy for Jordan Chiles when her coach’s appeal of her score was accepted and she moved from 5th place to the bronze medal in the floor routine. But I also felt so bad for the Romanian girl who as a result lost the bronze. She was just sobbing.
