@patagonia2024, Yes, it’s direct admit, my D has the same info on her UW portal.

Meant to say there is no WGPA. Only unweighted GPA.

My son got notice that they could not offer him admittance but asked if he would like to be waitlisted. So is he rejected or just waitlisted? I’m confused.
And what are chances of getting off the waitlist to acceptance?

Daughter got in, pre Social Sciences, plans on applying for Intl Relations major.
3.9 GPA, 1460 SAT
ECs included a lot of volunteer work locally and abroad.
Spent a year abroad in high school and running start after coming back
Essay was good I’m assuming since she got in.

@Jis1983 Yes, that is waitlisted, not a rejection. You should be able to look at some of the other posts to get more clarity in waitlist, and a UW admission staffer has been weighing in too!

I think that there will be portal updates now and over the next week up until March 15th. I have no idea how they determine who gets notified first, second and so on.

Daughter accepted OOS (CA) pre-science for math
SAT 1510
W GPA 4.4 ish (sorry remember exactly)

Does anyone know how much is awarded for Purple and Gold Scholarships? Can’t attend without it. Whole family attended UW so would love for her to have the opportunity.

DS got into prescience is international with IB
Applied for ACMS
Predicted 43/45
Sat 1580
Math II 800 and physics 800
ECs are in computer game development and AI
Wanted to check if folks here know what would be his realistic chances to get into ACMS and when would that be in first year or later?

Any guidance will help us in making decision

I just got waitlisted from UW, and I’m considering appealing. Please give me any advice! This was my dream school and I was accepted to even harder schools (hearing back earlier than others). This was supposed to be an easy in, and someone from my school got in who has grades and experiences inferior to mine. All advice is appreciated!

OOS (Georgia)

GPA: 3.71 UW

ACT: 34

Taken 11 APs and am in a STEM program - 3 biotechnology lab courses (CRISPR, PCR, gel electrophoresis experience, etc.) and organic chemistry as a HS student)

Applied to Biochemistry major

I currently have 120 employees and was the youngest ever to be promoted to manager in my place of work- been working there for 4 years, promoted 3rd year; intern for a local non-profit pregnancy center; conducted research in Cuba regarding their prenatal care system; invited to internationals for HOSA

I would suggest looking at post #452 on this thread. I am considering appealing as well and when I read the links they posted it gave helpful advice! If UW really is your dream school definitely consider appealing, especially since your stats seem well in their range. Good luck!

Son accepted

Major: English (pre-humanities)
GPA: 3.75 UW 4.2 W
SAT: 1420
OOS - CA

DD accepted pre social science
Superscored SAT 1520
Weighted GPA 4.2
NMS Finalist (UW top choice)
Decent ECs but not a ton of leadership
Fluent in 2 languages
OOS (MN)

She is very excited to have gotten in.

For those on the wait list who really want to go, make an appeal. We know someone who did and she’s due to graduate this spring.

Wow, I’m amazed by the stats of some of you that got waitlisted or rejected. My suggestion, appeal and wait until March 27, the day after Ivy Day. Personally, my D was accepted to UW Comp Sci, but it’s very likely that if she gets into one or more of the Ivy’s to which she applied, or MIT, assuming they don’t require the full expense of $70k+, she will accept with them and immediately inform UW, opening up a spot. There will be a lot of musical chairs after March 26! You won’t have to wait until June or later.

Hi! I was just admitted to UW OOS for Biomedical Engineering. I’m making a GroupMe group chat for students who got in, so we can talk about the school etc. Reach out to me with your group me username or message me so I can send you the link to join!

Accepted to the College of Arts and Sciences!

Stats:
Full IB, Math SL (6), Econ SL (5) so far
SAT: 790 M and 760 EBRW
GPA: 3.76 UW

Extracurriculars: Tons of volunteering, Mock Trial Team, Internships
Essays: Not a lot of work put in, not the best quality, but not too cliche.

State: Oregon
High school type: Public
Gender: Female
Race/ethnicity: White

Congratulations to all of us who got in! Our work paid off, everyone!

D applied for DA to CS but only admitted to pre-science.

In-state
GPA: 3.98, lots of APs
SAT: 1550
2 Subject SATs: 800 each
ECs: 100+ hours of volunteering at hospital, coding internship, assistant-instructor

Feeling disappointed. Since she has direct-admits into CS in other schools, won’t go to UW for pre-science.

Does anyone know if UW CS took fewer direct-admits this year? Or maybe they took more OOS? Just trying to understand… based on her school group, it looks like there were lot more in-state DA CS last year.

accepted: OOS, 4.17 weighted gpa, 1400 SAT, Pre-major (arts and sciences)
actually really excited to get in, loved the school when I visited
Congrats to everyone accepted!!

Accepted:
UW: 3.48, W: 4.29
ACT: 35
Applied for English but got pre-humanities major and I don’t know if they do this to everyone or if they just do It to students they aren’t ready to DA yet
OOS (Illinois)
