Financial aid will be available in your MyUW when it’s posted (you’ll receive an email in a couple weeks about that). Purple & Gold scholarship range is $3,000 - 8,400 this year and will be in the admission offer letter if you are awarded it.
The waitlist is organized based on the new information you present, along with the original assessment made on your application. WA residents are only competing with other WA residents for space at UW (in other words, the lists are separate).

@UWadmissionstaff - Is there a waitlist for in-state applicants who were denied direct-admit to CS? (but admitted to pre-sciences)

@UWadmissionstaff - my daughter’s app was submitted as out of state and she was waitlisted. We’re military and claim Washington residency even though we are stationed in another state. Is there a process to move her app for in state consideration?
D also applied for DA to CS. Denied outright.
GPA 3.95, 1570/36 SAT2 Math 800 all once and done. All the sports, volunteers and CS related camps.

@UWadmissionstaff - Thank you, for taking the time to answer questions. We are OOS, admitted (excited!) and looking forward to visiting. Due to COVID-19, our travel plans to UW/Seattle are on hold. I’m anxious, as May 1st is not far off and the timing for future travel is unknown. I’m wondering if there has been any discussion about extending commitment deadline due to the mitigating circumstances? My child is very interested in UW, but could never commit to a school without visiting (travel from East Coast is very expensive, so we waited for acceptance before planning to visit). Your thoughts are appreciated!
Hoping to get clarity on Foster DA. UW Website says Foster DA comes after UW notification. But seems there are many on the this thread that have been accepted to Foster already. (Congrats).
Son applied to Foster DA. Received acceptance into UW, but not Foster. Are all Foster DA decisions done or notifications come later as stated on website?

@prouddad20 no, there is not a waitlist for CS or Engineering. However, students can appeal their decision, however, for CS it was especially competitive this year so I would advise talking with an admissions counselor to learn more before going through appeal process. We are open today at 9 a.m. if you’d like to call the office.
@college203 no talk of extending May 1 deadline at this time. We hope to conduct campus visits again in April, but keeping an eye on the website is probably the best advise for right now…congrats to your student! I hope you’re able to come visit!

Son applied direct to CS. Rejected 1590/800/800/4.0UW/AP Scholar/Strong Extracurriculars. But…Out of state! Wonder what direct admit rate for CS and OOS? Low!

I applied for the History and Philosophy of Science major, its currently listed as pre-social studies so I think they do the pre thing for everyone.
Does anyone know when letters will come in the mail so we know about the Purple and Gold scholarships?
