Ohio State Admitted Students Fall 2024

It is disappointing!!! My son was accepted RD- still waiting on news from the Music school (which is his program)- but not everyone knows in October where they want to be. Discovered the program at OSU in December! And his stats would make him eligible for scholarships. We shall see…

I agree. My son just wasn’t ready to apply in October or even November.

This is my second time navigating this process; my oldest is currently a college sophomore who applied to approximately 12 schools, none of which required an EA application for merit-aid. From what I’ve gathered this time around with son, OSU seems to be the only one with an early action cutoff for merit aid.

The Net Price Calculator, shows my son getting a merit award as well. I’m hoping there is still a chance, but it is definitely something I will keep in mind for my next child.

Regardless, we are excited about OSU!

It’s not too late to apply for College, Department, Alumni, Corporate, etc. scholarships. Most of the Colleges and Depts will be on OSU’s ScholarshipUniverse as mentioned above.

Some other departments like Music have talent scholarships awarded based on auditions.

I had two kids apply to college this past fall and I can tell you many of the schools they applied to had EA deadlines for merit consideration. For this reason I made them submit all applications by the end of October because sending two kids to college at once is expensive! It’s not just an OSU thing.

what do the letters say? is there like a special link in them or does it just tell you to be on the lookout for the scholarship? I cant imagine its not online somewhere.

Anyone else still receiving Buckeye Scholarships recently? Nearing the end of Feb and thinking maybe my daughter missed the cut. Admissions said once they hit March 1st then you can probably assume your child didn’t make the cut even if they were eligible. All they told me is she is currently still being considered. Hopefully something before 3/1.

@AAAA13 Thank you for your update. We are waiting here, too - hoping we just ended up at the bottom of the pile and not completely ruled out.

ive heard and read conflicting things. I’ve heard end of feb–but also heard they roll out in march too. Anyone know for sure?

FWIW my OOS kid received it two weeks ago.

Ohio State sure loves their OOS students more ($$$) than the ones who actually live there.

They have more room to be generous due to the tuition difference of $13k (in state) to $38k (oos).

HI there…so I was told on phone Feb, but got this in writing today because I had also inquired about timing of receiving merit scholarships via email. Hope this helps:) Sounds like rolling through March.
Thank you for contacting Undergraduate Admissions. Since you were an Early Action applicant, you are being considered for our merit scholarships. We have started awarding these scholarships and are sending them out on a rolling basis. They are being sent sporadically up until the end of March. You will receive a scholarship award letter from us by then (if awarded)”.

Can someone confirm if housing is first come first serve? Debating about putting deposit down even though not 100% committed yet. I thought I saw some places say it was lottery no matter when signed up? Thanks

OSU is first come, first serve. From what I have seen so far, most are first come first serve. Except, Pitt…I think they are a lottery no matter when you sign up. Hopefully my daughter makes a decision soon:) We did buckeye bound this weekend and she really liked it!

You may be reading about dorm selection and lottery numbers on reddit. Those are current students.

I was hoping someone could help me with housing questions. My son is accepted at OSU - Columbus and still waiting on a couple of other colleges. We are visiting OSU campus the end of March. If he waits till mid to end of March to accept OSU, will he miss out on anything for housing? What should we do? For housing do you just get to choose location and preferences or do you get to choose your dorm also? Where would my son want to live on campus for Fishers business?

they will begin sending out housing contracts in mid march for those who have accepted in order of submission. Fisher is close to North campus, but some choose to live in South campus.
