Ohio State University Early Action For Fall 2025 Admission

Is this need based? Or merit based?

Same! Its not need based for us but happy to have it.

We got an email yesterday about the travel grant. The NYer in me questioned whether it was real or a phishing email. I guess it is legit.

Not sure. We got it Friday. We are OOS, haven’t heard about any merit yet, never visited the school.

We are OOS. Admitted to Arts and Sciences. No other communications from the school. We never visited the school. It is top of our list. We are wondering if we should join this week buckeye bound or later when we know (if) we are offered honors/merit etc.

Sadly, we didn’t get one either. We are OOS visiting at the end of March. My DD was accepted into the business school.

Did anyone who got the travel credit also get merit award money? Wondering if you get one or the other.

My child received merit and the travel grant. We are in state, accepted EA Like someone else stated above, at first i thought it was a scam. Its my fourth child going to college and we have never been offered a nice perk like that (oldest even attended OSU) But its not. Email stated “do not forward to anyone this is for you only”. So I gather it is definitely not offered to most. I have zero idea why it’s granted/offered to some.

I know this is a very big longshot, but has anyone signed up for the March 28 Buckeye Bound whose plans have changed and they cannot attend? We just realized that going on the 28th would save us another set of flights but the session is full. DM me if you can help! Thanks in advance!

I’d go to Buckeye bound now. Waiting to see if you get merit won’t impact your visit.

Contact admissions. They will make an exception for you to join. They’ve done this in the past.

Is anyone else worried about their Morill scholarships? We are going to visit but we are wondering if this scholarship will be in jeopardy. This article mentions the potential issues. I am worried that OSU could potentially face having to abide by bans on discussion topics. Please be kind if you do not agree with my concern. This is my first kid going away and he is worried about OSU now and we need to make sure he will be ok and also that we are making a good financial decision.

I am wondering if that is why it seems no one recently has come on here to say the received it bc they cant issue it

I read somewhere they were holding to see if the bill passed. We got the merit letter but unsure if that would stand. My kid read the bill and is also concerned about the potential limitations in class discussions and allowed topics. I hate that this is part of equation but it is what it is and each family must decide what is best for their situation and beliefs. I am reading both set of opinions, that the approved scholarships will be honored but possible no new ones will be given and also those that say the scholarship will stand.

I think people have continued to receive the Morrill scholarship. I heard someone received it Friday the 14th in the afternoon.

DD received Morrill and are flying out on the 28th to interview for the Distinction level - we haven’t been told anything differently.

I will share to save others the call if in my spot- no exceptions. They had space but apparently leave those open for people who bring more people than they registered for so a bit of rubbing salt in the wound but it is what it is.

Sorry. Last year recall them making an exception. Hope you go another date!
