Ohio State University Early Action For Fall 2025 Admission

How was Buckeye bound everyone?

It was great!! And looks like we will have a Buckeye in our home :). Fyi for those waiting on Morill scholarships. They said they got 15k applicants, have so far reviewed 10k and are working on the last batch. They will only give out 300 scholarships. So if you haven’t heard there is still hope! Good luck!

Oh man 15 thousand is crazy.

Last year my daughter go the travel credit (and direct admit to nursing!!) but never received any merit:( We were very sad:(

Is she a Buckeye?

No
she wound up choosing another college on east coast for nursing since OSU gave zero merit and she was offered generous merit at several other direct admit programs. Just didn’t make sense for OOS. Such as life, but is loving where she is:)

We are in the same boat! Based on previous years, honors seems to be quite selective. My daughter was admitted. She has received merit at similar OOS public schools.

People in this situation from previous years recommended calling admissions. Are you considering contacting them?

Probably a good idea. We were going to wait until next week and then we were going to contact admissions. Like your daughter, she has received merit at similarly ranked OOS public schools as well. OSU is one of the few that hasn’t offered her merit.

This was just released and it throws a lot of uncertainty around Morrill scholarships for this 2025 cohort of incoming students.

“Effective Feb. 28, 2025, the university’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) will sunset along with some of its services. Scholarships administered through the Office of Academic Affairs, including the Morrill Scholarship Program and the Young Scholars Program, will be maintained, but their eligibility criteria may be modified to ensure compliance with the law. The programming and services offered by the Office of Student Life’s Center for Belonging and Social Change will be discontinued effective Feb. 28, 2025.”

Ohio State shares initial reorganization, continuing review of diversity, equity and inclusion programs.

I can’t believe this is happening. We are flying to Ohio tomorrow for the Morrill Distinction Dinner and Interview. Ohio hasn’t communicated anything differently to us so we are still planning on going but this is so upsetting!

Please let us know what they tell you about the scholarships. I sent them an email asking to confirm if scholarships that have been offered are safe. Thanks

Have you heard anything back? We are interviewing for distinction also and I see it says Morrill will remain intact, but it’s hard not to worry.

Any updates? We are having to do zoom interview due to daughter being at YIG conference.

They said that the scholarships will remain in effect and will be moving under the office of undergraduate, but no plans to discontinue scholarship

Wow, that’s interesting. My daughter received merit and an Honors acceptance but did not receive the travel grant.

Thanks for answering all my annoying questions :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

Any thoughts or knowledge on the honors program?

Any deferrals from EA heard back yet? Any idea on the earliest we can expect to hear back on a decision from OSU.
