Old TV sit-coms you miss

Well…if we are adding in game shows…,my favorite was Hollywood Squares! I mean really…They were hilarious!

One that was only on for one season in the 90s was “My So-Called Life” with Claire Danes. Great show; cancelled too soon.

Lots of old favorites that bring back memories. Hogan’s Heroes, The Munsters, Flipper, Bewitched, Flying Nun, Happy Days.

We watched Mary Tyler Moore and the Bob Newhart Show with my dad every week.

I’m glad someone mentioned Family. IMO, it is the best series ever produced by a commercial network.

As for sitcoms…my guilty pleasure when I was about 8 or 9 was “I Married Joan.” It was in reruns even back then.https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?hspart=adk&hsimp=yhs-adk_sbnt&p=i+married+joan+tv+show&type=appfocus29_tr_cr&param1=20160510&param2=f0bbd168-4761-4789-a2b8-fac075509abf&param3=transit_1.1~US~appfocus29&param4=gemini-bb8~chrome
Since we’ve gone beyond sitcoms…anyone else old enough to remember “Peyton Place?”

^Agree about Family. Still miss it.

You bet, PacNWparent - who could forget the Sword of Damocles! Hosted by Stubby Kaye - although I think he was sometimes more laughing at the kids than with them!

Also admit to being a Thirtysomething addict. Wish they’d do a reunion show!

Loved Thirtysomething but it bothered me to no end that they never finished fixing their house!

I Love Lucy and The Golden Girls

I have a very vague memory of a show my older brother used to watch - I must have been very young at the time and I can not really tell you what it was about. I think it was called “Branded.” I just remember the opening of every episode with the music they played while stripping the buttons off this guys military uniform.

Am I imagining it or was there such a show?

@HarvestMoon1 Chuck Connors, after The Rifleman! Great show! I think it was based on a kind of true story, too.

Thinking of memorable theme songs, anyone old enough to be a Paladin fan?

Many of those already mentioned, plus Bonanza. My crush was Adam.

Loved “Cheers” and later, “Frasier.” Still enjoy them when I occasionally catch a rerun. Oh, and loved “Wings,” set in the Nantucket airport. Also liked “Mad About You” but now it gets on my nerves.

Did anyone else play the “Hi, Bob” drinking game while watching “The Bob Newhart Show”? Just checked and I was six when the show first aired, so I guess we were watching reruns in college.

Also liked Batman, which still airs once in a while with amazingly bad dialogue and special effects.

Just found this on Youtube –

Scouts mom - the only two songs I remember ny Dad singing were the themes from Palidin and High Noon.

Dick Van Dyke Show, F Troop, 3rd Rock From The Sun, The Drew Carey Show, and Whose Line Is It Anyway.

That’s it @patsmom!

I still miss Thirtysomething – probably because I was the age of the characters when it was on – and sometimes wonder how they would have all ended up had the show continued.

And I, too, remember Wonderama on Channel 5 when I was a child. Sonny Fox was the host, I think. I also remember Sandy Becker, but not the name of the show he hosted.

I LOVED thirtysomething back in the day. Last month I found episodes online and tried to watch them. Unfortunately, they did not hold up with the passage of time IMO. I should have left it to memories…

Yes, Sonny Fox hosted Wonderama on Channel 5 in NY. I can’t remember the name of Sandy Becker’s show either.

Thirtysomething has a special place in my heart, not only because I was around the same age as them, but because I had an infant the same age as Janey, so I could relate to what Mel was going through.

My son was born in 1990, when the show was still on, so my ex and I used to watch it with him sitting there in a baby swing. It’s also just about the only show where I still remember the characters’ names – Michael and Hope, Elliot and Nancy, Melissa, and Gary. And the boss, Miles. I also liked the fact that some of the characters were Jewish.

PS: I looked up Sandy Becker. The name of his show was The Sandy Becker Show!

I loved Sandy Becker. Do you remember him doing the Hambone thing? And wasn’t he involved in some scandal?
