A place for all things Oscar.

I’ll start: I’m glad Barbara Walters knows it’s time to quit!

A place for all things Oscar.

I’ll start: I’m glad Barbara Walters knows it’s time to quit!

Zac Effron is really good looking. George Clooney’s hair is getting thin.

We can’t watch the Oscars because Cablevision pulled the plug on ABC tonight.

Yes, Cablevision is at it again, although I think that their claim is that ABC pulled it off the air in the NYC metro area. Please feel free to post the results to us poor people beholden to the thieves of Cablevision.

I heard about that.
I don’t have cable so I never have to worry about these fights. We had one here locally a year or two ago.

I have to say this is the first year in many that I’ve really not seen many of the nominated films… of course it doesn’t help that there are 10.

However, I HAVE to watch it because of Steve Martin co-hosting. He’s one of my favs.

The red carpet interviews were completely lame.

Though I will say that Kathy Ireland looked amazing.

This stinks. Supposedly we (Cablevision subscribers) were going to be able to watch it online, but now Disney has yanked computer access as well. Wish I knew someone who used Verizon.

Meryl Streep looks fantastic! Her dress… just wow. I hope I will look at least half as good as she does when I’m her age (some people say I sort of look like Meryl. I think “sort of” is the key word)

Opening is great thus far!

New Yorkers…write Cablevision and thank them for sparing you from watching Neil Patrick Harris doing a song and dance act AND possibly themost stilted opening dialog EVER.
the tv is now off.

George Clooney is sooo funny.

I was just going to ask what is wrong with George Clooney? Weird reaction I thought.

Cablevision Update: ABC is being shown right now so we can watch the rest of the Oscars!

yes, was just about to say that!! ^^^

Calbevision and channel 7 have made up the oscars are on!!

x-posted with nysmile.

kathy ireland was painful to watch in those red carpet interviews

Best animated film of the year - Up! Yeah! This was a great year for animated movies. I loved Princess and the Frog! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that one of the songs from that movie wins the best song award.

Love the winning song.

For those of us not from New York, what is the deal with ABC?

Cablevision vs ABC:

folks the problem is thanks to ABC, not Cablevision! ABC wanted the 40 million dollars. The problem started because Cablevision has been charging us subscribers about $18.00 per month to carry the 4 main networks: CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox. ABC said, “hey, we want some of that” and then we had that lovely blank screen. (Not now. Maybe they straighted everything out, but let’s hope our bill doesn’t go up and let’s hope NBC, CBS, and Fox don’t try to pull the plug.)
