<p>Rats. A really boring song won. I have to say that *Princess and the frog *is a fantastic movie. Even D’s BF who is from NOLA loved it and thought it was well done and reflected the spirit of his hometown really well!</p>

<p>I’m glad that ABC is back on Cablevision (as of about 15 minutes ago) so I can watch the Oscars. It’s been a long time since I missed them (probably not for about 30 years), as boring (for the most part) as they always are!</p>

<p>Was anyone here surprised that Up in the Air was up for awards? I thought it was a reasonably enjoyable date movie, but that was about it – not Oscar-caliber. And the girl who plays the young girl (Clooney’s coworker) was very grating in the movie.</p>
<p>Speaking of Clooney, I didn’t get the whole joke thing where Alec Baldwin kept staring at him when referring to him. Was Baldwin making fun of Clooney not being a smiler?</p>

<p>Pizzagirl, I though she desrved the award. She played the role perfectly - a typical fresh college graduate slowly realizing that there is no black and white in the real world, but rather a whole spectrum of gray. I worked with several of them :)</p>

<p>I don’t ever watch these shows and am not a follower of the stars, but Clooney is just coming off to me as ‘above it all’. I loved the smile Ed Asner gave, Sandra Bullock laughing at their jokes, etc. Clooney is really turning me off, although he’s a fabulous actor. Loved Ben Stiller and especially the fishing pole :D</p>
<p>Ed Asner was totally cool! And we are still giggling about Ben Stiller. He even colored his beard blue :)</p>
