Oscar thread

I feel so old. I don’t know who these really young actors are. As for George Clooney, I think the deadpan expression is all a joke. You could see him suppressing a slight smile at one point when Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin were staring at him.

teriwtt - agreed. She looks great.

^^^Yeah, I think he’s playing along. He’s known as a huge prankster, so I don’t believe for a second he believes he’s above it all.

Is the show not be shown live across the country?? Some of theses posts are commenting on things that happened a while ago?

Nah… I’m just not necessarily following the thread constantly, but just to prove it, anyone else surprised John Travolta was on? I wish they’d shown a closer up shot as he looks like he’s lost weight.

teri, he did look thinner!

woody, that’s probably because we’re busy watching and not posting.

I didn’t see John Travolta- of course I am typing not looking at the screen the whole time- I could have done without the horror tributes though :p

oooooh…
we get a good look at Sandra’s dress!

Sandra Bullock totally has extensions- she look gorgeous though

Who designed Sandra’s dress? It was absolutely stunning!

Sandra’s on now…the dress is gorgeous!

Ahhh…JT. :)

James Taylor is amazing!!!

^^^so classy

Jennifer Lopez’s dress = bubble wrap?

So who’s keeping count? How many for Precious, Avatar, and Hurt Locker so far?

As for the dresses this year: there seems be a predominant style of tight in the chest and big and flouncy from the waist down, I’d say. Lots of gray. What’s with that? (Or Sigourney Weaver’s draped shower curtain).

George Clooney is always self-deprecating. It’s his schtick because people are always fawning over him.

I really liked Up in the Air. I thought Anna Kendrick did a great job in it, and I liked the surprise ending.

RTR - Gotcha!
I’m loving this dance routine!!!

Hans Zimmer is an amazing composer. His score for Sherlock Holmes should have won. But I do love the waltz form Up!

Visual Effects goes to Avatar! Yay!
