George Clooney is definitely “hamming it up”. I think he looks like he’s having a fun night (unlike so many others who look totally nervous).

I have no desire to see Avatar- so I guess I don’t get it- I did see Up in the Air which I liked, but it wasn’t one of the stronger movies I had ever seen- it seemed like a made for tv movie- except if it had been a Hallmark movie- then the " hero" would have reunited with his college girlfriend and moved back to Iowa.

but I thought the ending was not that unusual cause his " love interest" would have had a lot more angst if she hadn’t already had a love interest- especially in a Hollywood movie that cast people in their 40’s.

I like that the documentaries are getting more play- I think they are more interesting anyway.

Can you believe that Fisher Stevens used to be married to Michelle Pfeffier?

I think every nominated documentary deserves an Oscar!

All those documentaries looked really interesting. I’d particularly like to see the one about Daniel Ellsberg.

Best moment of the night…

“What are the hosts doing backstage…”

Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin in their snuggies on the couch
Loved it!!!

Yes, but I can never find them…

ek, really? I thought she was married to Peter Horton before David Kelley.

why is Keanu standing with his legs two yards apart?
He reminds me of how teenage boys sit on the bus.

She lived with Stevens for three years and I swear that I read a long time ago they were married-but now when I look it just says they " dated"- I wonder which version is right?

Agree that all the documentaries look fabulous.

Has anyone seen The Hurt Locker? I’m not big on war movies and so not sure I want to see it. I walked out on The Deer Hunter as a teen because it was too intense. Wondering about this one …

Oh geez, the two biggest reasons why’s “it’s the largest grossing movie of all time” is because 3D prices are so high…and all their marketing. Not interested in seeing a bunch of blue things scurry across the screen. reminds me too much of my kids’ video games.

Hurt Locker is terrific. I’m not usually one for war movies either, but this wasn’t young men in swamps. It wasn’t so much about blood as it was about the emotional aspect of being at war.

Where can you see those documentaries? In a movie theatre? on a CD that you can rent?

So sweet- Jeff Bridges is tearing up-

but isn’t that Sigourney Weavers dress? ( on Vera)

Wow, Michelle Pfeiffer’s tribute to Jeff Bridges was so sweet. Tears in his eyes…love that guy!

yeah George!

OMG, it does look very similar!

And now Morgan Freeman is tearing up…

well at least Kate hasn’t gotten all bony.
:)
