Oxbridge General Information

I am truly confused on the application process to either of these two schools. I would like to know if they only consider AP classes/Exams that are taken (which I have heard is the case), if they take SAT/ACT/AP exam scores, and a general idea on how likely it would be to get into either of these two schools as an American. If one of you knows, I’ve gotten As in all of my AP classes, including European History US History Spanish Language and English Language, and currently have As in US/Comparative GovPol English Literature Calculus BC Physics C . 5s on all of them. SAT of 1590/23500 (800/790/760), ACT of 35 (36/36/35/31).

You can use the UCAS website to explore entry requirements. If you are a current senior, you have missed the October 15 deadline.

Also note that you can apply to one or the other, but not both.

How do they consider grades (I am a Junior)

They don’t.
They consider your SAT score, your AP scores (5 5s are expected), and /or your SAT2 scores (700+ expected). You also have to write a statement explaining how your extracurricular activities prepared you for your major (they’re not interested in well-roundedness). Then you have a huge essay test in November, and an interview where they grill you on major authors, theories, books… in your subject (you need to read 10-12 books before that interview, and have a good mastery of each. No notes allowed).

Thank you so much! Are single majors normally the case at these colleges?

You can also do a joint degree. But even then you’d only study 2 subjects.
