Ah, those delightful times when everyone knows you were right so you don’t need to say a word.

I confess to feeling some of the same. I haven’t kept up very well on this thread, but what I’ve read lately has left me feeling “preached to.” There is plenty of that on other threads by the CC Old Guard, and until recently this was a refreshing change, since those Old Guard posters stayed out of this thread.

My son has been gone for less than two weeks. I just realized I hadn’t posted anything about what I’d felt last week, his first week away. I’m thinking I am just not feeling that comfortable here anymore. But it was great while it lasted!

Isn’t it amazing how parents can be soooo stupid and not know a thing and miraculously become absolutely brilliant?!?! LOL!

Owlice…ahh, I wish I were so clever! Did make me chuckle! ![]()
Good to hear from you oregon101! Have missed you!
Now where is that hardworking historymom??? How are those twins doing???
Shawbridge…I think of you and S often. How is he doing? Any news on his books being taped? And I don’t have to look for homecoming or prom dresses anymore!!! I will always appreciate your help with that!

When I read about transferring I think about j’nais so quois (sp??) and her D. How wonderful everything worked out for her! Gosh…I hope I remembered that right. If not I’ll blame it on the pain pills, too early in the day for my cab! ;)

Gosh darn it…I am really feeling behind with everyones biking and hiking!!! Perfect time of year around here to do it!

AP awards…D2 just got a 2008 Rising AP scholar certificate sent from the school. Guess the GC is cleaning out files.

Deja…Love you! Lets take our place back!
Are you feeling sad ? I know what that is like! {{{hug}}} You can count on us being there for you!

Something to blame on the week of almost non-stop rain…

NM–wondering the same about historymom. And aren’t we waiting for a few to still leave for college later this month? Our state schools don’t begin until Sept. 28th. So we really should all hang in here to send them off!

OK question–I have been putting off calling the College Board AP as somehow we do not have the AP # and also never sent the score to S’s school. Figure I need to call and talk to someone–or do they need it in writing? anyone?

I believe you can call.

Okay, I’m feeling horribly guilty for starting one of the objected-to lines of posts…by ranting about spending $290 to find out that my D didn’t have H1N1. I didn’t think I was being political, but again, please don’t go because of that.

Thanks NM–I was only getting a recording. I used one of your #'s and got a nice guy who had a running comentary about elves, schools in the dark ages, and the fact that only the “really bright ones” manage to bubble in their names wrong, as evidently my S did. I had not noticed so it is a good thing that I did call.
SEE everyone, we still need one and other.

now

:: hands missypie a cup of tea ::

Here ya go! [_]o

Thanks so much. Is there any cheesecake left?

Count me in with the posters hoping to keep this thread going! I don’t post much, but I “lurk” almost every day. I find it very encouraging to read about others’ experiences, and how they mirror (or sometimes don’t!) my own.

But of course there is!

:: hands missypie cheesecake ::

Cheesecakes today are plain, amaretto, chocolate, and plain with strawberry topping.

We also have passionfruit tart, raspberry and lemon sorbets, and chocolate mousse cake.

Enjoy!

I’m in dire need of chocolate, so may I please have half a slice of chocolate cheesecake and half a slice of chocolate mousse cake?

I didn’t realize there was chocolate cheesecake! Can I have a piece too?

missypie and DragonLady, of course!

:: hands missypie a slice of chocolate cheesecake and a slice of chocolate mousse cake and DragonLady a slice of chocolate cheesecake ::

There’s raspberry… ummmmm… “stuff” to drizzle onto your desserts if you’d like, ladies; please help yourselves!

[_]o

Tea, DragonLady? Or would you prefer coffee?

Keep the thread going. Please.

Oh and keep the cheesecake coming. Please. Thanks Owlice! (I’ll have the strawberry toppped one).

:: hands FallGirl cheesecake ::

:)

Hi All, I’ve come out of my fog and realized I’ve not posted for a while… tried to catch up on all of the activity going on here… Wow!

Anyway, got a phone call this afternoon - looks like we are joining PRJ in the sick ward -
DS just crumbled yesterday and upon my insistence (just read about the student who died of the flu @ Cornell- how awful!!!) so he went to clinic this afternoon where the strep test was negative and so they gave him Tamiflu. Hoping he bounces back quickly - poor kid has to miss his first concert tonight!

SJTH: Is anyone else just beyond thrilled that we’re NOT going through college applications this year. Oh, it is SO nice to not be visiting colleges, analyzing colleges, applying to colleges… YES but with a junior year D, I am feeling a bit panicky - shouldn’t I be using all the knowledge I got from kid #1 and getting us ahead of the game??? who knows, think I’ll have one of Owlice’s treats and think about it!!!

Happy to be back! :D
