<p>OK, just have to chime in to add to the no seams on socks, no tags, no loud noises crowd - that’s my 6th grade D. Also hated any pants that had a zipper/snap button. Years later I have figured out that this is actually a mild form of some type of disorder for which I never treated her. 0_0</p>
<p>I’m surprised any 2011 parents would be interested. I assumed plenty of 2013 parents would be peering in right about now.</p>

<p>My son also is part of the no tag, no loud noises crowd. I believe that a lot of boys are like this (and some girls but not as many). Why else would GAP and other stores now make their T shirts tagless? </p>
<p>Yes suzy, these “quirks” are also prevalent in the Asperger’s Community but not indicative.</p>

<p>I have been following this thread for awhile and decided I had to join this lovely supportive group! My only D will be heading off to college in the fall so I am extremely appreciative of all of your advice and suggestions.</p>

<p>The whole “tagless, easily-irritated” child hits home here as well. In school (Occupational Therapy) we called in Sensory Integration problems. Really, it’s more of a continuum, like a lot of things. Obviously, it’s pretty rampant, thus the introduction of “tagless” tee-shirts and what-not. While my oldest abhors tags, my middle son was obsessed with his “tag baby” which he (at 15!) still sleeps with and “tags.” ( <-rubs between index and middle finger, repeatedly)</p>

<p>Hey fellow wackaloons, thought I’d check in today though we have no news and aren’t really expecting any until the end of this week/beginning of next for G’town. I’ve decided that’s a lightning strike, so I started the spreadsheet tonight. It didn’t take me long to figure out that Tulane offers the best financial package by far. When spring break is over we’ll look at everything and hash it out with her dad. I think it’s pretty cut and dry. Now just hoping we can get to NO before May 1st, it may not happen. </p>

<p>My daughter was awful with tags, seams, and tights when she was little - huge temper tantrums. Lest you think I was forcing the tights on her, she was also very fussy about her appearance and needed to dress as either a princess or ballerina everyday - even though the tights “itched” her. She also wears a cotton cami under everything except bathing suits because it’s a constant feel regardless of the regular top she’s wearing. I thought it was part of her oppositional defiance trait or dyslexia but if you tell me it’s part of the Asperger’s spectrum I’ll believe that also. Ugh, those were awful times, please don’t remind me.</p>
<p>It’s funny but I’m also thinking about BB&B and college shopping even though she has no idea as to where she’s going in the fall. She had an orthodontist appointment today and the orthodontist wants to see her before she leaves for college but I couldn’t make the appointment because depending on where she’s going the appointment needs to be anywhere from the very beginning of August to the beginning of September. I told them I’d call May 1st.</p>

<p>MommyMommy - I’ve never heard of a campus that didn’t have XL beds so if you’d like you can start buying! BTW, many of the XL sheets also fit regular sized beds so should your child move off campus the same sheets will fit.</p>

<p>'Tis not for me to advocate for one school or the other for mspearl’s D. But I will say this: I went to a school best known for its football team and never painted my face (or chest) red. I never once went to a game, in fact. If I had had guardians who were more sophisticated about choosing a college, I’m certain I’d have ended up at a small LAC somewhere. It occasionally makes me wistful that, instead, I went to my state flagship on a scholarship. I was exposed to plenty of big ideas and high art (and cheap beer, let’s not forget that). There’s so much going on at big state Us. Even if the culture seems monolithic there’s no way for any type of student to dominate when there are 40,000 kids on a campus!</p>
<p>Dd10’s school had regular twin sheets, her transfer school has xl. Dd12’s school has regular…it usually says somewhere on their site.</p>
<p>Well congrats on all the acceptances over the last couple of days. We are DONE!
Here is the final tally, and in the future I will list stats, colleges and money like we had discussed doing as a group.</p>

<p>My son has decided on College of Charleston Honors. A school we knew he got in back in December early action. Honors in January. We are still hoping he will get some scholarship money, but even if he doesn’t, we have weighed all the pros and cons, and surmise that is the place for him. I feel at peace with that decision, and feel relieved to not be chasing and expensive private school waitlist. I understand the desire to spread his wings, and fly the New England coop. And if it is a disaster, he has 3 other public schools near by that he can transfer into…</p>
