TVenee, LOVE Columbia. Also LOVE Duke (Kelowna), Georgetown (YDS), and Vandy (MommyD). Can’t wait to visit all the other colleges on our list above. What I really like about this thread: I feel a little like I have a tiny piece of a kid at all these great places. Can’t wait to hear more about WashU, University of Florida, Occidental, Carleton, Belmont, and Cal…and all the others!

Welcome, privateschool! Great to have you along for the college ride. Fasten your seatbelt!

Just found out that DS has won two local scholarships (yay for $$) and that he will be giving a speech at graduation! He is not VAL or SAL, they want him to speak because he was VP of the Senior Class and Team Leader on the Student Leadership Team:) So happy for him!

pouncecat2 · April 23, 2013, 5:43pm

Sophieandlola - Yay for scholarships! Yay for grad speech! Congratulations!

OK people - even though we all know DD13 will be keeping me in limbo as she lollygags around Germany this next year and won’t decide about medical school in Germany until late next spring… I’m calling it quits in this lounge chair. First, because we have actually paid UC Davis…so that counts, right? Second, I think I’m getting bed sores from too much lounging!

So, I’m lacing up my old school four wheelers and I’ve got a jug of moonshine, too. No glasses here…you want moonshine you take a hit off the jug! YOLO! Watch yourselves though go easy… last time I took a hit of moonshine I didn’t have nose hair for 10 years!

Gonna need a little help from my friends…this tablet won’t let me copy so I need help adding UC Davis to the list please. Thanks!

Crosspost problems…reconciliation needs to happen. We need version control software.

laurendog · April 23, 2013, 6:08pm

Hello Hello

Congrats to all. Wherenext - Fight On! ha ha YDS: Yay for Georgetown! Love it!

Feeling verrry nervous with the growing number of Michigan foes in this thread. Full of Dukies! So many Dukies! And confetti’s S is not helping - the Domer. (ha)

In other news…I need a hug today. Had a terrible, no good, very bad day. Here are the low-lights…

computer hard drive died

Apple store cannot salvage No information able to be saved. Had to buy a new computer just to even have one to use this week since DH is out of town

While I’m at Apple, getting the bad news, Step-D lets us know that we owe the school yearbook account over 300 dollars for a ‘Senior Page’ that she and her mother put together and designed for the yr book. Um, NO. DH and I are not going to foot the bill for that. No siree!

Yelled at Step-D over text message. Yelled at DH over text message. Yelled at everyone. :p

Left mall with broken computer, and new computer. However, Apple store ~almost~ didn’t let me pick up the new computer I just purchased because they mistakenly put the pick up information in my H’s name! This close to crying at the Genius Bar. (lol)

While driving home, rock hits windshield creating a spiderweb mark.

Got home, new computer cannot be set up because DH, unbeknownst to me, added my email address to his Apple ID profile and Apple was kicking out my email as ‘used.’

I will take any alcohol all and any of you have. Is it tomorrow yet??

Hmmmmmmm. I’m looking at this great list of schools and concluding that somehow, somewhere, I’ve probably been on a campus tour with at least some of you.

Meanwhile, our kids may be planning some sort of gathering the next time we’re away for a weekend.
