Wow, feels like a great party with a side of melancholy for a lot of us. What a tender story, Pouncecat. So glad to all who have such wonderful decisions. Extra drinks for those who are still waiting…

Isn’t it amazing this day is here! I will sing your 12 days to my family tonight, Confetti.

Hi! I know you are all busy with proms, graduations, finals, etc. I don’t know if this applies to any of your kids, but UVa has gone to the WL and will start making offers today. Details are on Dean Js blog.

DS declined UVA’s offer so I’m glad another student will be able to attend Mr. Jefferson’s school. Is this early for them to go to the wait list?

Congrats to all for their final choice!! Now onto planning move-in, winter break, parent’s weekend and so on…

Holy cow - last week? I’m not ready for that! We have a month left and that’s hard…

Congrats, brownpartyo5 - Rose-Hulman was the very first college I looked at thinking of S13 - he was in the 7th grade. He never, ever considered engineering, so it never came close to the “real” list. But I liked it :).

congrats, busymomma! UW-Madison is a heck of a ‘safety’ lol.

We need to mail announcements soon. I’ve been putting it off. Kids definitely do Facebook.

oh {{{pouncecat}}} we had that moment too. S13 said “I think the reason I like my safety so much is that it would be a lot like high school and I’m not ready to be done yet.”

Hang in there all…

Tri-M honors ceremony tonight… tissues ready. See y’all later.

DD13 (now DD17 I guess!) pushed the button today for U of Rochester! Last night we were talking about her choices and she just turned to me and said, “I don’t know why I have been putting this off so long. I’m going to Rochester.” So happy for her. We tried very, very hard to give her our opinions, but to let her know that this was her choice.

To top it all off, we heard back today and they increased her merit award to their highest level and bumped up our FA just a bit too. Very, very happy!

Congratulations to everyone on their decisions. I can’t believe that we all made it to this point. Anyone else dealing with senioritis? 3 Senior projects and 5 AP Exams are looming large before graduation…When I was a senior in HS I had a very light load; it must be hard to face so much at the end. The school expects everyone to take the AP exams, even though his college does not give credit for AP. I’m a bit torn between encouraging a bit more review and just letting go at this point.

Well, S’13 loves SOG’s music choice-Final Countdown so maybe that finally motivated his decision. He is officially a Stanford Cardinal (although he is more into ‘fear the tree’)! He did a video last night to make the big announcement and then took off with his ‘from pro-fro to fo-sho fro’ shirt today. He is very excited and seems more than a little relieved.

He sent out a bunch of ‘regrets today’ except for four that he really needs to do personal messages for tonight. As I recall with his sisters, that is the toughest part. It would have been difficult to do earlier, as they all want to know where he is attending and things about financial aid and what factors made the difference in the decision…lots of surveys or mini-surveys. Anyway, hope that helps someone’s waitlist. One was Vandy and I think someone was hopeful, so good luck to everyone waiting!

Also Rochester, Wisconsin, Rose Hulman, congrats and wow! Great Schools…and now to add to an amazing list!

SOG-Loving the final countdown and all your other selections. Your dorm parties would have been my favorite with that kind of music back in the day!!

Senioritis-There has been no reviewing for AP tests and no plans to do so in the future. Does that count?

How early are we supposed to send out announcements?

Congrats on Rochester, Wisconsin, Rose Hulman, Stanford, Grinnell all!!

MDZ- One of my favorite kids is going to Grinnell from D’s school next year.

I am very happy to have landed here with you all during this process. I feel like the Ball is about to drop in time square with the countdown. Got a little lump in my throat…

Congrats on all the new decisions. What a great list we have. I note that there are no Texas schools – no UT, Rice, Austin College, Trinity, A&M, Southwestern. Harumph.

Tomorrow, ds’s school has all the seniors wear their college shirts. I’m guessing that’ll be the case for a lot of y’all’s high schools?

DS got the official “We received your enrollment form. Welcome to the Class of 2017” e-mail tonight. He saw it and promptly feel asleep on my bed at about 8:45. Wiped out.

Popping in to add my dd to the list. She declined UVA earlier this month- I’m very happy some kids will be able to come off the wait list there. Awesome school.

I would ask D about schools on accepted students trips, should we buy the shirt? On the last visit she asked me if we could take a trip to the student store :). Nuff Said! She was done. So, tomorrow she will be wearing the tshirt! I love this tradition. Every year I get teary. All the excitement at school from all the classes and hope for their future. I am so sappy about the whole thing!
