Good luck to everyone applying! I remember very clearly 2 years ago to the day, helping my daughter with her apps which were due within hours. Very stressful time. And I’ll be doing it again next year with my son.

Happy New Year and fingers crossed for many thick envelopes (or their online equivalent).

OK!!! Not so anymore! But still am a bit embarrassed :o I’d never scrolled waaayyyy down to the bottom of this page before. I mean everyone knows this thread has more than 15 replies (HA!) so why bother? :)

^^Yes, the relief I feel is palpable, as DS just submitted 9 applications–with three hours to spare. Two more have later deadlines, but I finally feel like I can breathe.

GreekM: “I guess that means diets and going to the gym…” What??

No way. I’m gonna become callipygian just by stepping on and off of Walker’s puff.
Watch me go now…whee! We can all puff each other and out green square all the other 'rents. They will have no idea why the 'Rents of the Lucky 13ers all have 15,687 green squares.

^^^I tapped your puffs too! Single green boxes are sad. Mine is making me feel woefully inadequate…feel like I’m that lonely girl at the dance in the corner.

Happy New Year! DD just decided tonight to apply to two more colleges and just hit send. She is done with 13 colleges in total. I love the feature of CA that allows all of the school information be stored. She had a list of 16 schools at the beginning of the year that the school uploaded months ago. Originally she applied to 11, however with the Yale deferral she decided at last minute to add two more just in case. The other three are definite “no”, so we are done. Now just sit back and see how things shake up over next few months.

Happy New Year everyone!! Now that I see 2013 on my date on my computer–college is a lot closer for our kiddo

So, at 5:30 am I am awoken by the hall light turned on and the ominous sound in the bathroom that no parent wants to hear in the “middle” of the night…all over the hallway, the walls, the floor, most of it made it into the commode though…DD sick…she has surgery scheduled for tomorrow…crap. I’m thinking something she ate last night?? Any dr’s on board? Now what do we do? I’ll call the intake person at the hospital later but crap…

It’s done! Just hit “submitted” for DS’s FAFSA…based it on 2011 wages since 2012 didn’t change much. The killer with taxes this year–if you child’s 17 years old you don’t get that $1000 deduction any more…way to make me pay more :(…Good news: estimated EFC: $3.353
