I guess I won’t bother asking my cousin in Alaska to check for us then. I find it odd that they did this way. I think the location where you took the tests would guarantee people attempting to log on would be spread out across the country.

DS’s AP scores were in his college portal a few days ago so you all might want to check there.

My son didn’t have his sent to a school because when he took the exams he was still hoping for a waitlist admission. However, I used a proxy and got his scores this morning. In total, he’ll have 20 credits accepted by Michigan. Good deal.

S14 got 4’s on all four of the tests he took, hooray! I’m so happy for him. That will leave some flexibility for his minor classes.

OK, scores are now accessible (to us, at least). I don’t know how much I posted here about my son truly dogging it his final semester. But his AP test performance is typical of the way he does things.

He ended up with a C in AP Chemistry. The teacher, who’s wonderful, noted in his comments that Ben at some point needs to realize that being smart simply isn’t enough, and that he needs to be more diligent in doing his work. He ended up with a 4 in the AP test, which is good enough for credit at Emory.

His other AP course was Statistics. In his final mid-semester progress report, his grade was a C-/D+. He said, “Dad, Statistics is just too hard. I’m not sure I can do it.” Well, you certainly can’t do it if you don’t do the work. The high school GC emailed him and us, informing us that a D in AP Statistics might put his Emory admission in jeopardy. That got his attention. From that point forward he got nearly perfect scores on every quiz and got a totally perfect score on the last exam (no final). And, he got a 5 on the AP test. Yeah, I guess it was too hard for him.

His history has been to dig himself a hole at the beginning of most semesters, and then to work furiously to climb out of it. We’re hoping that’s not the case next year, but as the scorpion said, “It’s just my nature.” Shoot me now.

Postscript: I am really happy to look up AP scores for any of the regulars on this thread. I know that there’s trust involved, but PM me if you like. I’ll be in and out most of the day, but will be home for the next couple of hours.

Three 5’s and a 4 !! Strangely I’m just so happy he didn’t let his teachers down, despite the senioritis setting in. They really believed in him, wrote and said beautiful things about him and backed it up with dept awards. If he had blown off the exams I wouldve felt he disrespected them. Feeling happy
We still have IB HL results to wait for …

@GertrudeMcFuzz- there is a place in PB called “Alex’s Brown Bag” which makes the best philly cheesesteak sandwiches. It use to be located in the Mr. A’s building. They lost their lease so they rent space in a bar (I can’t remember the name something with a number). I think it is on Cass Street. Any how the owners are from Philly and they have stuff delivered from Philly everyday including the good bread used in the sandwiches. They are really nice guys and very reasonably priced. Everyone thinks it is the best Philly cheese steak in our area. Hope this helps. P.S. I am going to borrow your idea for our going away party and do it regional.

Sorry I have not been able to post much. The flood to our house has been the worse experience of our life- 80% of the house destroyed of course during my busiest work season. I will try to update in a post this weekend but your kind words were very much appreciated.

Slightly freaking out- D leaves for college in a month- I can’t believe my baby will be gone.

@AssleepAtTheWheel, I so feel for you! DS also has a tendency to take it easy in the beginning of semester and then works hard to pull up grades at the end. Luckily, he has been able to pull up in every class and every semester with A’s. But my nerves are shot going through this the last couple of years.

I guess our scores don’t become available until tomorrow at 11. None of d’s APs will get her credit in anything useful, so I don’t know if she’ll even check tomorrow.

Congratulations to everyone getting useful news.

D got a 5 on Calc BC, the rest all 4s (she took 6 AP tests) . I guess I should be happy rather than disappointed since she had a major senioritis on the 2nd semester and didn’t study much for the tests.

@itsv I’m sorry to hear that the flood did so much damage. That’s got to have the whole family reeling.

If folks want to check the AP scores in advance:

Use a proxy to make it look like you’re logging in from California: Click Start, Control Panel, Network & Internet, Internet Options, Connections tab- LAN settings. Check the box “Use a proxy server for your LAN” put in 198.206.185.13 Port 80. Open your web browser, get scores from apscore.org. Change the setting back by unchecking the box or else all your apps will think you’re in California.

@itsv - great tip - thank you! It would be awesome to have the Amoroso rolls. We’re headed to Jersey Mike’s this evening just for fun to check it out, maybe we can try your place next weekend. The party is in 3 weeks.

D was happy with her AP scores & hubby was happy with those of his students. 80% pass rate for his AP bio classes, compared to 63% nationally

Hmmm- S logged on at 9:15 Pacific time and had no trouble pulling up his scores. He did really well, so it has been a cheery day!
He has been frustrated as he is certain he bubbled UCLA to recieve scores on AP test day. Others have seen their scores for over a week through UCLA’s portal, but his were not recieved. I now wonder if he will need to pay to have scores sent…

I have been reading all of the move-in dates and have noticed that families with kids on the UC quarter system are missing. S will start classes on October 2nd at UCLA!!! Crazy! He will go to UCLA on September 15th, however, for a two week bridge program, then we will drive his belongings down the last weekend in September to move him in.

Nice trick to get at the AP scores, BarnardMom2016. I might just try that! And my kids will be impressed by my proxy skills rather than annoyed that I’m obsessing :-)

After a month of almost weekly travel for work including job interviews, then a week of vacation on an island with limited internet, I’m back to CC. Just realized that the Class of 2018 List of Acceptances document got messed up. I believe I fixed it so please try again if you were looking for it:
<a href=“Class of 2018: List of Acceptances (H.S. Class of 2014) - Google Docs”>http://■■■■■■■/class2018

I may not be able to catch up on all the messages. Congrats on the AP scores everyone, especially for your hubby @GertrudeMcFuzz !

@crowlady Yes, the Google Doc is accessible again!

My daughter said “New MTV show: True Life-My Mom is a Hacker” I didn’t get a Master’s in Information Security for nothing…lol. These are the tricks people use at work to try to go to blocked web sites. We have to configure firewalls to block those proxies! I’m sure part of the reason the site is struggling is because a lot of people know these tricks. Several kids on the AP forum are using that trick. College Board will have to come up with a new method next year.

@2016BarnardMom – As soon as I read your earlier note about signing in using the proxy server I thought, “Well, she didn’t do that Master’s Degree for nothing”. You’re an asset to us Luddites here.

Congrats to all for those good scores. I guess that as soon as these kids sit down in front of a test booklet they enter a ‘zone’, and their senioritis and “I don’t care, it doesn’t make a difference” attitude succumbs to their drive to do well. And that’s a good thing.

@minnymom, S14 wasn’t sure he’d marked to send his AP scores but I was able to see his score report history and he did. You should be able to see if your son’s scores were sent to UCLA.

I just printed off 2016BarnardMom’s IP address workaround for D to check and she said I already got them. I got an app and it acts like a browser without a location (we are in Ohio). She said the app is opendoor. It operates on her iPhone like Safari. She logged in and the system showed her scores. Not sure if just Apple or also Android. I haven’t tried it but it worked for D so here’s another option if you can’t wait!
