The ups and downs of being a sports parent…D had a large, well attended college exposure tournemwnt this past weekend. had 4-5 coaches there to watch her on Saturday where she was neither good not bad, 3-4 sitting behind the backstop yesterday when she was pitching (not very well). She was on a short pitching leash and was replaced quickly and sent out to the outfield (her other position)…she needed to borrow the sunglass cleaners from dad between innings to dry the tears from inside the sunglasses.

On the flip side, it wads 17 years ago today Sapwn officially cracked the egg and hatched. She’s at field hockey practice now.

Awww @threesdad, Sorry to hear that your D was so upset about how the game went. It’s so hard to see them sad. :-(

So sorry @threesdad! Will she have other opportunities to showcase herself? I hope she feels better and enjoys her birthday.

Happy Birthday to Spawn!! Being a sports parent is not easy.

Its softball Suzy, there’s always another game but one school that was there was a good match athletically and academically.

Oh well.

@threesdad- I hope she enjoys her birthday! Being a parent of a pitcher is so hard…

@threesdad sorry about the day…coaches realize that somedays are off days. They will review tape then review notes…been around the game a long time. I had my worst game and recieved my best offer after that. So you never know ;). Think positive and continue to show interest to the school.

Threesdad can she send in a video?

So tonight D got a phone call from " Brandon" who attends OSU. She was in the shower. When I told her about the call her response was " ugh." :-S

Evidently she is not in the mood to ask or answer any questions. He said he will call back tomorrow.

Wow, @BunheadMom, Greece and Rome? How fantastic. DD (HS class of 2014) went to the local amusement park for her class trip, lol. DS (Class of 2015) will probably do the same. However, we do have to start making payments for next year’s band trip to Disney World. That’ll be enough of a stretch for us!

Ah @threesdad, so sorry she was upset. It’s an awful lot of pressure to play perfectly all the time. Happy birthday to her–I hope it’s a wonderful celebration.

@threesdad, poor thing… so much pressure!

Happy bday to your daughter, @threesdad Hope everything will work out well for her.

No senior trip here, but I don’t think I’d let my D go. Too many kids and never enough chaperones. In this area, it’s all about the spring break trip, so we are planning a family trip that may or may not be with another family or two. Looking to go somewhere in the Caribbean.

@threesdad, I know someone who put together a website with videos from several games and she sent the link to schools. She was recruited.

I am not at the end of the thread (I’m sitting in the Portland airport after a day of visiting colleges which I will talk about later) but I wanted to ask @3girls3cats about her post from this morning. What crazy UC results are you talking about?? You’re making me nervous! Do you know a lot of people who didn’t get into UCs where they thought they’d be safe? Were there news stories about this?

I can deal with it if some schools have become harder to get into, but I just want to know. I can’t deal with uncertainty!
