That’s great! Do you need someone to clean up after the goat?

YAY Mom24boys! I’m so happy for you guys. You must be incredibly relieved. I hope you barbequed the goat!

Hey who took my goat!

Congrats Mom24boys!! Welcome back to the donut hole!! This will be quite the party and I may come looking for the fruity drinks soon, unless of course there is a pharmacist on board who can get me some Xanax. As I mentioned before, I hate roller coasters.

I don’t think I’ll ever go on a roller coaster again. But I would love to go to Vermont and get some apple cider donuts. Can they be served on the cruise?

The goat was for the dream job. It has been saved and sent to a petting zoo.

Petting zoo…or fajitas. Hmmm…I vote for fajitas!!! :-c

With apple cider donuts of course.

Mom24boys. What a relief for you. Glad to hear.

The 24 hour Walgreens is a lifesaver. Years of my most earnest exhortations have not succeeded in getting kids to give due warning about school and other needs. Always last minute. Most recently it was a midnight trip to pick up a 4-function calculator for the AP Bio test. We had stacks of scientific calculators in drawers throughout the house, but no simple 4-function one.

Goats, deer, virtual sailing (among other things), and donuts.

Sometimes this thread gets downright…weird.

I’m almost finished with a very bad reaction to poison ivy. So I had a lot of time sitting around over the last week. I added a bunch of info. about merit scholarships to my spreadsheet. I’m finding a couple things interesting. There are a couple schools that don’t allow performing arts students to qualify for merit scholarships (they have perf. arts scholarships instead). D’s SAT scores are looking good for many of the schools on her list in terms of possible merit money, but some of the top award amounts at a few places would require a re-take and a bump of score (maybe even 10-20). We’ll definitely wait to see if that even becomes necessary. First we have to get this huge list pared down to where I can at least count them on my fingers & toes!

I asked D if she had given any thought to her possible college major. She said she had. (Impressive.) Unfortunately the thinking did not result in any conclusions.

@Mom24boys well that is great news-donut hole and all-very happy for you!

@W2BeHome ugh! My son got some horrible infection that started with poison ivy and ended up with his arm swollen so much he almost needed to be hospitalized. I was just reminiscing about it the other day as he needed dressing three times a day it cost a small fortune and was very gross-and the timing was very bad as he had to go to junior prom looking like a mummy!

Impetigo! That’s it-gee I hope you are OK he was very sick-it was scary for a while! :(

This thread is usually downright weird! ;)

D has an acceptance! Though the University of Kansas doesn’t say so on their website, the Princeton Review guide says that they issue decisions in 48 hours, and they did. Many schools left to apply to, but it’s nice to know that she’s got at least one place to go that we can afford.

Attacked by a deer…a coworker of my H’s had his car hit by a deer. The deer ran out of the woods and ran right into the side of his moving car!..
and there is this…

I love the Hecks!

congrats @mom24boys, so glad things are looking up on the employment front!
How big is this donut hole anyway?

@Mom24boys - congratulations to your husband on the new job!!!

Um, D really liked the goat stew at the Folklife Festival last weekend…

Mom24boys…Adding our congrats as well. One less stressor to worry about!! Does this put you back into the apple cider donut hole though? :-/

Weird is in the eye of the…weirdo. Goats and all, this site is a welcome island of stability in the sea of insanity that normally surrounds me. Try to wrap your minds around that fact folks. In my world…you’re all normal. 8-}

@Mom24boys - Congratulations! What a relief it must be.

@W2BeHome, I had very bad reactions to poison ivy in the past. A dear friend taught me a trick that took care of it within 24 hrs. Wait for it…dab crazy glue on the spots of poison ivy bumbs. I’m not kidding, it really works!

Passing around a large platter of donut holes for our Thursday mid-morning break. Anyone have coffee?

Just brewed a fresh pot of coffee !

@shoboeman it’s 5 o’clock somewhere so I pass out the coffee with the Baileys, Amoretto or brandy to add some flavor. ~O)

Sure. West Coasters may still be able to do this.

Congratulations to @mom24boys and family! What a huge relief! I’d keep the goat for milk, cheese, and free lawnmowing.

@W2BeHome, so sorry about the poison ivy. I’m glad you are on the mend and @muf123, I am going to file away that trick for future reference.

@hs2015mom, is this the first acceptance on this board?? There should be some sort of prize–or fruity drink–to celebrate! Congratulations!
