Parents of the HS Class of 2016 (Part 1)

@PAO2008 My sweet girl opted for the black NorthFace Borealis as well. It’s very sturdy. And I love the fact that NorthFace will cover any repairs. We purchased her full length NorthFace coat last January and learned of their repair warranty.

She got two wisdom teeth out in February 2014 and two out last February. It was a relief to get that over with.

Glad to hear the healing process is going well @PAO2008 I remember mine was brutal when I got my bottom 2 out in September 2014. The wounds got infected.

My daughter opted to get the SwissGear SA1923 Black TSA Friendly ScanSmart Computer Backpack - Fits Most 15 Inch Laptops and Tablets. It is really a nice backpack. She had been looking at them and on prime day it was a good price so she purchased it.

D loves her Borealis. She got it at the start of senior year and its still like new. It’s the first backpack that she has ever said is completely comfortable to wear for long periods, and it sure is sturdy! Hers is the women’s version, cut to fit her figure. Both she and her sister have the North Face shells and they have held up well too.

Today is a crying day for me…the Washington post article set me off.

@labegg :((

My S did not want to do a lot of research on backpacks - or any research on backpacks. We had researched for my D back in 2010 and got her the Northface Borealis - not sure if they had the women’s version then. But she used it all 4 years of college and still uses it when she travels home or other places with her laptop and confirmed that 6 years later it is still in great shape.

We got D’s Borealis on the North Face outlet site moosejaw.com. That limited the colors she could choose from, but we did get a good price. As it happened, she found a color she loves, so it all worked out.

Anyone else having trouble accessing the forums under the “Colleges and Universities” tab or the “Ivy League” tab? I find nothing when I click there.

I bought D16 a Fjallraven backpack last week. Anyone else finding that they are giving in to a few more requests than usual? :wink:

@EastGrad I reported it here:

you are not alone!

My D got a nice big Vera Bradley duffle bag last year and a new wallet. I told her that would be part of her birthday present since I had gotten her so much already.

As I was mentioning yet another thing I’d be picking up for D the other day, she patted my hand (we were in the car) and said, “You know, I realize just HOW MUCH you and dad are doing for me and all the places you’re driving me and how much you’ve supported me over the years, and I want you to know I really appreciate that.”

Tears…

I have said similar things to my mom with the same reaction. @sseamom

All working again, @3scoutsmom! Whew! I was a little worried for a moment. :))

@sseamom Dear God I would have to pull over on the road to cry a minute. I can picture my sweet girl saying “awe momma I love you”.

Today I’m crying over the bike H bought for S that I am now worried will be stolen the first week.

@sseamom That made me tear up. It’s always great to be recognized and appreciated.

@EastGrad, my D16 picked out a Fjallraven backpack she liked too. I guess her plain ol’ Jansport she had all through HS just wasn’t making the cut. :wink:

Aw, gosh, @sseamom.

@eastgrad - you have more children applying?
