@MuggleMom , comments like that make me crazy, and I do see lots of them on CC (note the “jaw on the floor” thread on the Forum recently). So far, we’ve not seen those on Facebook, thank goodness.
@LKnomad - sorry about the deferral from me too! I agree about the fancy restaurant. In fact, when people were originally planning tiered restaurants, I thought to myself that the best restaurant should be used for solace even as much as celebration! But deferral does mean still in the running!
We are done! DS’s ED came through today. I just can’t believe it. So glad it is all over. You will all be there soon!

Thanks all. My kid really is not upset. He applied more as a, let’s see what happens, vs a OMG I really want this school. This was also a safe way to test his letter from the SpEd teacher. The fact that he was not tossed out of the running, indicates that the letter did not hurt so he may send it into Stanford. We shall see. The real difficulty will come if he is rejected from the SLACs that he loves later on.
@LKnomad I am the eternal pessimist and when I read you post, I even said, it’s not a rejection, he still has a chance. I’m glad he’s taking it all in stride. Best of luck with his favorites.

Our waiting is another few more days and expect deferral. DD was checking her friends result today. From her summer camp, it seems good results up to now. She’s now admitted to CBTA housing. She was in waitlisted #2 and two students from the list are accepted to Columbia and Williams. If DD is accepted to Cornell and decided to attend, room and board is free up to 5 years. So finger crossed.

Been on the road today driving but have landed in SC for a few hours before returning to the northeast for the holidays. Super congrats to all the great news in the last day or so. Fingers n toes crossed for all waiting to hear n hope all the best things work out for everyone! On the FB trend…I am not a big FB person but if there is wonderful news to share then please give us the good because we have way too much of the bad and the ugly!

Congratulations to everyone who got good news today.
Today has been exhausting, a childhood friend’s dad passed away, although I hadn’t seen either of them in years, it just feels like another part of my childhood died.
On another note, S knows two people who got decisions today. They both go to the same school. One kid, who is a friend of my S, has no luck, the other, who is not well liked, never loses. The no luck kid get deferred today from his dream school and the not so nice kid got into his dream school. I feel so bad.
Here’s hoping tomorrow brings us some happy news for S.
