@Mysonsdad Did you just get it recently? We got it few weeks ago, but DD applied before December 1 deadline. I believe they send it to all applicants.
I just got it today.S applied December 1
My son never ended up applying, but had toured and requested info, etc. We got it the other day and it was one, dated back in November and two, wayyyy late for the December 1 deadline. I donāt get why they arrived to late, but needless to say it was irrelevant for him anyway.
Today was the first day in a long time that I actually made it to the mailbox before D16 did. Boom, there it was. Accepted into University of Delaware and the Honors program there!! No word on FA or merit offerings yet, but it was the last application she was waiting on and one of her top three choices (and Dadās number one choice, lol). A most excellent and unexpected Boxing Day present!! Now the waiting on schools is all about Scholarships and completing one Honors application. Very proud of her!

I remember after S applied to his EA school they sent a pamphlet to tell him what a wonderful school it was.Just to make it hurt more

Congrats @Skates76 !!! <:-P What wonderful news! Has anyone elseās family gatherings this holiday been all about college? I saw my cousins earlier and while it was nice it was definitely too college focused. But honestly I expected it with my sister, my cousin and I all being seniors and my other cousin being a sophomore in college. Yes, I know Iām going to a college half the size of my high school. Yes, itās a womenās college.But I love it.

@Ballerina016 yep. My kid had been working on around 7-8 essays over the last several days. These are for the schools with early Jan deadlines. Then he has a few for Jan 15th deadlines. This has been a nightmare. One of the schools is Stanford which requires a ridiculous number of essays - something like 10. My sister who is a professional writer/editor looked at the Stanford essay prompts and said they seemed like they were designed to really trip up applicants, which would help to weed students out, so he is taking extra care with them.

At this point, my daughter is just doing random scholarship application essays. She had her intense essay writing time earlier in the fall, and got all the regular decision apps done then.
Next EA decision is due Jan 9 (large state school), and hoping for a major scholarship decision in that time frame too. This really IS going to stretch into April for her though.
Remember that college that called D to confirm which year she was graduating? Well, we guessed correctly-she got her official acceptance today! Itās one of the top HBCUās and is her #2 choice, but she will need some serious merit/FA to bring it down to affordable for us. Itās almost double the price of some of her other options. The letter said merit letters go out before Dec. 31 so weāll keep our fingers crossed. She also got an official snail mail acceptance for one of the other schools she heard from verbally a couple of weeks ago. For them we are just waiting on honors acceptance.

@Mysonsdad @Ballerina016 We too got USC pamphlet for FA about 10-12 days back. We did apply before 12/1. I am guessing that USC is sending it to all the applicants.

Spent Christmas Day on sudafed and a House of Cards IV drip. Iām on the upswing. D has had a nice break from essay writing, but sheās back at it tomorrow. We have our Panera ādateā scheduled. She has 3 RD applications to complete with due dates of 1/1 and 1/15. @readingclaygirl, my D is applying to two womenās colleges. 
D received her Fall semester grades. She did great! Very proud of her managing all this application craziness and a very rigorous academic schedule. Now we just have to figure out if her GC sends out mid year reports automatically or if we have to request them.
My S officially ran out of essay steam tonight. He is supposed to have three short ones written by tomorrow so he can talk about them with my sister, who is working with him. (I have been removed from the equation because I stress everyone out.) I found him sitting on his bed saying that he simply has nothing to say. So I did what any good mom would. I took him for Coldstone. (Ice cream for those who donāt know.) Now he is back to work. I really wish this would end sooner rather than later.

@LKnomad I wish I could use āice cream therapyā on my S since it seems to have been successful with yours! My S needs to do the last marathon stretch in the next week for a handful of apps that are due between Jan. 1 and Jan.5, but is having much difficulty mustering any energy/motivation to work on apps. Sadly, the closest ice cream shop is 20-25 miles away! Also, with 18 inches of recent snow on the ground we are cautious about venturing out for anything extra. The snow did make for a beautiful holiday though!
