Parents of the HS Class of 2016 (Part 1)

So sad to hear @readingclaygirl. We do have to count our blessings when we hear news like that.

I’m sorry to hear that @readingclaygirl.
I reminder to give your loved ones an extra hug tonight.

Hugs to you @readingclaygirl I’m sorry to hear this.

This one’s for @sseamom, or, actually ammunition for your DH to tease you with. It is written for a prep school perspective, but just mentally transfer it to a College environment:

Thank you all. I actually didn’t know her but have friends that did.

Oh, @readingclaygirl, I’m so sorry to hear that. Yes, life is precious. Hug your loved ones and enjoy the precious moments we have, while we are alive and well.

Oh that’s terribly sad. I’m sorry @readingclaygirl.

Best wishes to your S, @carolinamom2boys. @Bookmom7, I feel in my bones that the Ides of March will be good luck for you.

@Sophmore1 and @sseamom, we will all have to stand shoulder-to-shoulder, in a virtual, metaphorical kind of way, when our kids leave for college.

@3scoutsmom, you reminded me that I intended to rake up the yard today. Too dark now. Oh well. >:D<

@readingclaygirl, the death of a child is every parent’s worst nightmare, and I know it is also very hard for peers. Hugs to you.

Thank you both. I will say that I live in a very strong community that always pulls together in tragedy.

@mommdc, I am hoping it kicks on too. I am getting nervous about waiting on the DRT and not doing a thing but waiting, wondering if I am missing deadlines.

We got a welcome letter from NEU telling S he is a Husky now, the only thing about him that is Husky is what they want him to pay to attend their college.

@Cheeringsection, that tugged at my heart. S is part of a nationwide organization that has conferences three times a year and this weekend was the second to last one. I remember the first time he went as a freshman and now it is almost all over.

We are 93 days from graduation

@readingclaygirl, this year has been tough at my school, three former students have died. Two of them were still very involved in the school and their deaths really shocked everyone. It is hard to teach when half your class is crying and the other half didn’t know who they were and I have had too many mornings start off like that.

And with this post I have hit 1,000 posts and I think I become a Senior Member. I don’t think I have hit a 1,000 posts on any other website, ever.

Congrats @Mysonsdad!

@Mysonsdad This is the first death that’s happened in my school since I’ve been in high school. But back in 2012, a junior died in a car accident and a rising sophomore was hit by a drunk driver while walking. That same year, 2 seniors at another local school died in a car accident which seriously injured 2 others. It’s just so sad.

@ItsJustSchool that’s pretty good! The funny thing is that I am from NH and though I didn’t know anyone who attended Phillips Exeter for the school year, I did know some who went to summer programs there.

I told D16 we will move her bed room to her sisters and her sister will move. Our 3rd bed room is small and younger daughter spent enough time in a small room. I also told her she can have a room at the basement which is large. So she seems to accept it.

I just received a notification congratulating me on being a senior member, this is the first promotion I have recieved in years.

Congrats @mysonsdad. I am so close behind at 902!!!

We can celebrate your promotion at the SoCal meet and greet!

@readingclaygirl Sorry to hear that. It took time to overcome.
