Going shopping this weekend for Easter attire. If I see something that will work for graduation, I plan to buy it for both DD and me. I have very little time for shopping between now and then with both kids in spring sports.
Jealous of your need for a smaller size @sseamom. In my typical plan ahead fashion, I have accomplished the freshman 15 a year early–wait, that is for the DC!!!
@bookworm I think its causal dressy, at least it was when D16 played in it. He will definitely need new shoes and dress pants. Everything he owns is too short and small suddenly.
Graduation for us is the evening of June 6 at the HS football stadium. Dress is usually casual as we are sitting in the bleachers. The kids are wearing cap and gown, which can get hot. D wore a dress for hers but not a super dressy one given the heat and the cap and gown on top. We’ll have a big party for S the day before graduation like we did for D. Family, neighbors and close friends - uh it will likely be 50 or more people. Lots of close friends who we consider family. And my S is the youngest so everyone thinks of him as an extra son or brother. Now if we only knew which schools he will be choosing from. . .
D’s last two college decisions should be coming out later this afternoon. I’m so nervous for her–these are her top two choices which also both happen to be reaches/lottery schools. She’s not really expecting to get into either one, but it sure would a nice surprise if she did!
Son popped in, taking time from his busy schedule to (relieve my stress) check admission results. He was accepted to VA Tech Pamplin School of Business, BIT!!! Last year they admitted 120 freshmen to this major in this giant school. He will hear results from Honors in early April. It was his #1 school but he has been very relaxed about the whole experience. He is daily getting more merit money and scholarship invitations from his other schools. He has papered the state of Virginia with applications and is in to all except nothing from William & Mary yet. I’m so happy for him. It was mean old me that wouldn’t allow him to apply ED. ~:> ~:> ~:> ~:> Hokie emoticon!
Ooops when I said papered it was only seven schools. He didn’t apply to VMI but he received plenty of mail from them. He was not interested in the military thing. He didn’t apply to the Corps of Cadets at Tech either.
