@me29034 Can you have one the weekend before ? My goddaughter did and so did several classmates .
Daughter receives her cap and gown next week. She is out of school on May 6th and graduates on May 13th. She has a few things to attend in between and AP testing. Her graduations party is going to be the Saturday after she graduates while family is still in town.
And we have a winner - Mount Holyoke Class of 2020! So happy for her and glad to be able to make plans!
Congratulations to your D16, @AnxietyAttack77 !
Congrats @AnxietyAttack77
@carolinamom2boys Iâll have to look into that. The weekend before is Memorial Day weekend, so that could be good or bad depending on whether people have made other plans or not.
Congratulations @AnxietyAttack77 !
Congratulations @AnxietyAttack77 !!
Congratulations!!! @AnxietyAttack77
@AnxietyAttack77 Congratulations!
Yay for another great decision, @AnxietyAttack77!
We had problems with the grad party date, too. We only have 3 relatives(families) that must be there, so between us and the three of them, we are having it the day after graduation, on a Sunday afternoon. Looking ahead through the summer, the weekends were already very filled up with 3 weddings this year. So yikes, time to get going with the party planning. May 15th will be here very soon!
I just sent out Facebook invitations yesterday and plan to send an insert in the graduation announcements. I went for the Saturday after graduation. D16 is not happy because a. she wanted no party and b. because her friends are going to the beach and she thinks no one will come. She canât go to the beach at the same time because she has a commitment for her last orchestra concert on the 17th. I donât even know if anyone will end up coming but we will have food ready and waiting.
We have one foot off of the S.S. Indecision! D Bornsecond will be attending UNC Chapel Hill in the fall. It was that wedding dress moment. She is the worst decision maker ever so I expected this to go down to the wire. But when you know, you know. Now we are facing back to back weekends in CA for D BornfirstâŠ
Congratulations @madredos ! My nephew will be attending UNC Chapel Hill this fall also.
@Sophmore1 - As a freshman? Cool. Do you mind if I ask where he is from? Maybe they can look for each other.
@madredos he is from Ohio, and going in as a freshman
 .
I feel like we got off easy on the graduation party. My DDâs HS offered a trip through Travel for Teens to Italy for 10 days. They leave about a week after graduation. She wanted to go and we said that we could not afford to throw a party and send her on the trip. She took the trip as her graduation gift and I am off the hook for a party! We will likely have a family BBQ or something simple in August as a âgoodbye and good luckâ event.
We asked DD if she wanted a graduation party and she shrugged, âNo, I have plenty of others to attend.â She is more interested in a weekend away with some of her best friends than in having a party.
Congrats to those with decisions!
Weâre having Dâs grad party a week after graduation. Graduation is in the evening and in another city so having a party the day of would not have worked. Weâre having it at the church where I work, which will be free of charge to us, and weâll be cooking up our own food, nothing fancy. Most of her friends are juniors and are not going away, so they will all be able to come, and all but one relative are local. Weâll probably also have a âgoodbye and good luckâ BBQ at home before she leaves, but it will be a smaller event.
Congratulations on coming ashore @AnxietyAttack77 and @madredos ! Time to dive in to the rest of the process. Smooth sailing for all still deciding.
