Parents of the HS Class of 2017 (Part 1)

Congratulation to all of the recent acceptances!
My D is also considering Fordham, Wash U & UNC at this point with others to hear from.

The strangest acceptance came last night from University of Wisconsin-Madison @ 11:30 pm.
My D was accepted and no mention of any FA. Perhaps more information is coming, but I just found the timing of so odd! In CC speak, NFW w/out FA. $-)

My D accepted to BU with 44.5k scholarship. Go Terriers !

@HSCounselor2 Are you OOS for UW-M? They don’t offer aid to OOS students.

@Cubanmom3 Congratulations to your D. Did she get the Trustees?

Congratulations to @nocturne21 @paveyourpath on the BU Presidental Scholarships!
Cingratulations to @skr2017 on the BU aceptance.

GO TERRIERS!

Yes, we are OOS @Mom2aphysicsgeek.
It was a bit of a long shot to begin with, but surprised that there is not much a break down even offering even loans.

@botcom No Presidential 20 plus a BU grant of 24.9 guaranteed for all 4 years regardless of income changes …takes BU out of the NFW lot

@Cubanmom3 Thanks for the update. No Trustees notification for D which we were prepared for. Congratulations to your D on the presidential and the grant aid!

Is it time for a mental vacation? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kZN0KogeV4A

So happy to wake up to so much good news, congrats to all <:-P

Hugs to those with rejections and waitlists >:D<

My DS got bad news from BC so on we go!!

Huge congrats to all the good-news-bearers here! And @LoveTheBard / @dolomite – I’ve heard the U Chicago sends fun, wacky acceptance packages…What were yours like?

BU waitlisted this AM. Again 50/50 chance not falling his way. Oh well, endfed up where I thought it would all shake out in the end. He has a few very good choices to pick from.

Congrats on all the good news still coming in, good luck the rest of the weekend!

Yes, indeed @Mom2aphysicsgeek!
I plan to immerse myself in NCAA bball until the end of March. Then on the road to making a decision!

@firstwavemom Congrats on your D’s acceptance to UCLA. I have a relative who went to UVA too and the family always talks highly of it (and the other Virginia schools too).

Mom2aphysicsgeek i hear you, same scenario going on here. The higher ranked schools are granting more generously. Dont get me wrong we are grateful for anything, but its just puzzling.

Youcee, im sure you have said, but if you don’t’ mind me asking what major is your daughter?

@JenJenJenJen UChicago has sent S17 much swag…at various intervals: 2 tshirts, a pen, a handbook, a scarf, a bumper sticker …solicited to a luncheon for Admitted students in our hometown in next couple weeks… B-)

I would like to have whatever @Cubanmom3’s daughter has, because with all of the amazing offers she’s getting she apparently has ‘it’.

@thshadow Re Mudd: Our HS sends 12-15 kids to the Ivy’s each year, tons to Berkeley, some to MIT, CalTech, Stanford, and other elite schools, but they have very little success getting into Mudd. I think it was about 3% at best IIRC. That’s out of over 30 applicants a year. I ruled it out early because of that.

Congrats on all of the BU acceptances!! <:-P <:-P <:-P
@paveyourpath @srk2017 @Cubanmom3

Congrats to your D on U of WI! @HSCounselor2

@Mom2aphysicsgeek Sounds like a plan… I’m excited for her!

@RightCoaster well waitlist is a little frustrating but better than outright rejection! Hopefully he will enjoy the day on the slopes and make his decision soon!

I love the swag, @vandyeyes :slight_smile: I thought UChi being such a (top, but) idiosyncratic school, they sent weird or funny stuff too.

I need to get my eyes checked - I misspelled ‘English’ in a post last night. I blame the iPad for the extra ‘i’.
