Congratulation to all of the recent acceptances!
My D is also considering Fordham, Wash U & UNC at this point with others to hear from.
The strangest acceptance came last night from University of Wisconsin-Madison @ 11:30 pm.
My D was accepted and no mention of any FA. Perhaps more information is coming, but I just found the timing of so odd! In CC speak, NFW w/out FA. $-)
Yes, we are OOS @Mom2aphysicsgeek.
It was a bit of a long shot to begin with, but surprised that there is not much a break down even offering even loans.
@Cubanmom3 Thanks for the update. No Trustees notification for D which we were prepared for. Congratulations to your D on the presidential and the grant aid!
Huge congrats to all the good-news-bearers here! And @LoveTheBard / @dolomite – I’ve heard the U Chicago sends fun, wacky acceptance packages…What were yours like?
BU waitlisted this AM. Again 50/50 chance not falling his way. Oh well, endfed up where I thought it would all shake out in the end. He has a few very good choices to pick from.
Congrats on all the good news still coming in, good luck the rest of the weekend!
@firstwavemom Congrats on your D’s acceptance to UCLA. I have a relative who went to UVA too and the family always talks highly of it (and the other Virginia schools too).
Mom2aphysicsgeek i hear you, same scenario going on here. The higher ranked schools are granting more generously. Dont get me wrong we are grateful for anything, but its just puzzling.
@JenJenJenJen UChicago has sent S17 much swag…at various intervals: 2 tshirts, a pen, a handbook, a scarf, a bumper sticker …solicited to a luncheon for Admitted students in our hometown in next couple weeks… B-)
I would like to have whatever @Cubanmom3’s daughter has, because with all of the amazing offers she’s getting she apparently has ‘it’.
@thshadow Re Mudd: Our HS sends 12-15 kids to the Ivy’s each year, tons to Berkeley, some to MIT, CalTech, Stanford, and other elite schools, but they have very little success getting into Mudd. I think it was about 3% at best IIRC. That’s out of over 30 applicants a year. I ruled it out early because of that.
@RightCoaster well waitlist is a little frustrating but better than outright rejection! Hopefully he will enjoy the day on the slopes and make his decision soon!
