Our son’s popped up too.
D’s scores are up also. She did really really well and is well over our state’s cut off from last year. I’m SO happy for her!
D got a 223 in California. Last year’s cutoff was 221. Omg, she just may have done it!
HELP! There is an asterisk next to D18’s score, saying she is ineligible based on not being a HS student, not being a US Citizen, etc. None of that is true but I’m worried that she may have missed a page of the registration bc she has no recollection of being asked to list a top choice college, etc. (Isn’t that part of it?)
Ugh, this is an awful feeling! It says 221*.
@Kayak3, in the box to the right of the eligibility responses on the score report you’ll see the contact info and instructions to report eligibility inaccuracies to CB. Get on that right away and you’ll be fine.
@traveler98 , Thank you. I’ve only been able to access the scores on my phone bc my laptop is “updating” (ugh) and I can’t see any of that on my phone. My fear is that she forgot to fill it in and, if so, I pray it doesn’t make her ineligible.
@Kayak3, she would not have had to choose a college when she took the exam. She may have filled in the wrong bubble for year in high school or something like that. I’d call CB. I think it will work out fine.
My D is a happy girl this morning, with a selection index four points above last year’s cut. This opens up lots of new college options. Just when she thought she had it all figured out… ;))
@Kayak3, I’m sure you will be able to get it sorted with CB. Your D can easily prove her eligibility status if needed, and if she just left the page blank CB might be able to clear it up without even requiring documentation. It will be fine.
Thank you! Called CB and they said I need to speak with National Merit, which doesn’t seem right. Of course National Merit isn’t open until 8:30am CST. It appears she left the page blank bc all four answers say “no response” when asked about eligibility. I guess I just have to wait to call National Merit? Ahh, waiting is always so fun!
Call National Merit.
Yep, just pulled up the score report again and the contact info to correct eligibility inaccuracies is National Merit. It doesn’t list their phone number or website though, just a snail mail address. If you call they might give you a quicker way to fix the problem, like a contact email where you can scan and send whatever they need to fix the info.
That would be awesome if I could fax or email. CB did give me a phone number for National Merit. Thanks so much for your help! I appreciate it.
S18’s scores STILL not up. Called CB and they were so not helpful. All they would say was that they could confirm he did take the PSAT, and say that I should call the school’s GC. CB would not answer any other questions (such as, will this delay prevent consideration for National Merit awards??), and just kept repeating that I should call the GC. Called the school’s GC and they said S18 wasn’t even on her master score list. Then she suggested there could be a delay because he had an accommodation. Since he had a cast on his dominant hand back in October (and still!), he got an answer sheet with bigger bubbles to make it easier to fill out. Don’t understand why that takes longer to score, as he took the ACT back in October with the same accommodation, and his score came back at same time as all scores were released. So all we can do now is wait to see if a PSAT score eventually does come in, I guess. Uggh!
@Kayak3 I hope you get your situation worked out!
S18’s score was not up when he looked at 7am this morning. I don’t know if he’ll be able to check during school. I don’t use a CB account, so have to wait.
1500 and SI 225 confirmed, which should be fine in Ohio. Now if I can just get my son to focus on looking at some colleges.
220 in AR, of course need final cutoff but feel like S18 did his job.
Already took SAT and scored 1480 which would be good enough, I think, except he took with writing and that score was mediocre to poor - 4/4/5. Any insight on whether he should take again without writing just for purposes of National Merit Scholarship or just submit this one?
@boysmomma, the SI for confirming SAT scores is calculated the same as for the PSAT and doesn’t include the essay score. You might want to confirm with National Merit but the essay portion should make no difference to your S’s NM consideration.
Congratulations to everyone who got good news this morning!!!
