I haven’t posted on here much but I could not have gotten to this point without all of you. I read the posts daily. This is such a supportive thread that I am cheering for every single person’s child/children. This is really just the beginning for all of us. The hard part is next August when they leave.
Amen
Congratulations! So thrilled for your D and what a wonderful school. That’s one I always wished one of our kids would have applied to.
Congrats @Momof3kidz to you and your daughter!!!
@Momof3kidz what great news! My oldest, dearest friend has two daughters at Tulane, a junior and a freshman. They are far from home, but both love it.
@Momof3kidz I guess our kids will be in the same class. We had good news from Tulane yesterday as well.
@Temperantia
Great news!
Congrats to you and your daughter @Momof3kidz! And congrats to you too @Temperantia!
Congratulations @Temperantia!!!
All,
I am going to “try” to get the first results list posted here over the thanksgiving holiday. If you haven’t contributed to the doc and would like to, PM me and I will send you the info. Thanks!
Great news for all the Tulane ED acceptances!! Could more weeks until we hear from our ED
So wondering why schools like University of Chicago would be sending D19 mailings. With 8% acceptance rate I would imagine they would have the skills to better target prospective students. They also do not offer her intended major. All this waste of paper?!
They’re looking for more applications to reject so that they can deflate their acceptance percentage.
@EENYMum we’ve said the same. My older D has a perfect gpa, ECs, and awards. And then she has test scores that do not quite match up with the rest. Her app wouldn’t make it past the first culling at UC to be sure, but they’ve been sending her stuff for over a year now. And it’s great stuff, perfectly targeted to her interests. We’ll never understand why the top tier schools (Ivies and Chicago) keep sending her stuff when they’d likely toss her app right from the start. They likely get enough top 1% students to reject already.
@milgymfam the university of chicago is test optional this year! if your daughter was seriously interested she could apply without test scores
@kcgirl316 true- though they weren’t when they started sending her mailings. I also assumed (incorrectly it turns out) that they, like most schools, still required tests from homeschoolers.
@milgymfam ohh okay
Looks like our ED lottery ticket paid off too!
We will see what the $ looks like (arrives Mid December it sounds like) but S17 was admitted to RIT for Computer Science today.
Wow!
@eandesmom great school and great city. Plus they have Wegman’s ?
