Parents of the HS Class of 2019 - 3.0 to 3.4 GPA

Congrats @eandesmom! I’m so happy for you both!

Congratulations on the good news!

Congrats @eandesmom

Congratulations to everyone…something great to hear before Thanksgiving!!

Congratulations to all of the acceptances!

Congratulations @eandesmom ! Thinking good thoughts for the $ to work out beautifully!

@EENYMum I almost spit out my coffee reading that. I swear everyone in Rochester thinks Wegmans is a tourist attraction. Everywhere we went, anyone we talked to…“have you been to Wegmans?”

I have a friend who works at a Wegmans and she was almost evangelical about them. To me it’s a nice grocery store, but just a grocery store. Then again, I am from Philly so Wawa has a place in my heart (and I am celiac so I can’t even eat hoagies!) so I try not to judge.

Speaking of kids, my D got her acceptance into Arcadia’s honors program last night. Still waiting on her lottery ticket (come on December 3rd!), but they’re making themselves an incredibly attractive back up plan!

@eandesmom - Congrats!

I’m just gonna say that for at least some of us who live in areas with minimal grocery store competition, yes, when we head to the Northeast, Wegmans is totally a tourist attraction.

@dfbdfb - :)) I guess I am very lucky - I have Wegman’s and Wawa nearby…

Similar to @eandesmom S19 was also admitted to RIT for ED as well. also waiting for $$$$

Fair enough @dfbdfb !

S19 and I were kind of like…it’s a grocery store. I mean it’s a very very nice grocery store, and we did go visit after the volume of comments made us really think we had to check it out but…it’s a grocery store. Yes, they have more than that and it is very probable we are pretty spoiled with our local options as we’d put several up against it, but…it’s a grocery store.

I’m with you @eandesmom We have a Wegmans near us and while it is a nice grocery store, it is still a grocery store. I will shop there if I happen to be near it but I tend to do my regular shopping at the grocery store closer to my house. I don’t get it.

Congratulations to all who have received good news and fingers crossed for those of you still waiting.

When we toured Hobart they talked a lot about there being a Wegmans nearby. Then t the end of the tour they gave us a Wegmans cookie and I will say it was delicious! :))

@eandesmom if your son ends up at RIT, you may want to take a visit to the Pittsford Wegmans. It’s pretty impressive, and I’m used to Wegmans!

@mom2twogirls that’s the one we went to. We bought a cider (not overly impressed with the selection really) and fresh oj. We were a bit amused by the pub INSIDE the Wegmans. It was a cool pub but I am not sure how I’d feel about driving to the grocery store for dinner.

But, as I mentioned Seattle is a pretty foodie kinda town and we have a lot of really really nice options here that are local chains with similar fresh areas. It was definitely very nice though.

I’ve not yet been to a Wawa though so need to see if that lives up to the hype as well.

Congratulations on all who has offers. May I ask if we do not file FAFAS in the meantime, or before the deadline of the colleges, will there be a bad consequence for the admission process. As we have overseas income in 2017 (before immigration) that its unlikely we will get any grant, we plan to file the FAFSA next year. Also, I heard that the subsidized loans only valid for four years, so will it be better to leave it at the end period of college. However, we rec’d emails from colleges that urge us to complete FAFSA.

@mom2twogirls the Pittsford Wegman’s!!! We are from downstate so our grocery options are poor, so every trip to Rochester to visit family also includes a pilgramage to Wegman’s. We had lunch at the burger cafe!

@milgymfam our D19 was accepted into program as well but we have no idea what it involves. What major is she considering?
