rosemary sprigs are the secret heroes for non alcoholic drinks of all kinds.
For me: in a lowball, sparkling water/club soda, plus a dash of bitters for some color as much as flavor, and a lime wedge.
Some really delicious looking concoctions here:

@luvmykids1 @turbotwins24 and others that have completed FAFSA - can you post your specific experiences in this thread for parents with students in other HS Classes? I havenāt been able to coordinate with my kid and a working FAFSA window to start this process⦠Patience, all - update on 2024-25 FAFSA
I have found FB group for D22s college super helpful. I definitely have been careful not to post without her permission and I take the complaints with a grain of salt. Just got permission for D24s FB group this morning and spent a bit too much time looking through it . I was really pleased to see that the overall vibe reinforced that the school is a great fit for D24.
From feedback on the FAFSA thread, the process is smooth. The student has to start the FAFSA, and they will āinviteā the parent to be a contributor. The parent can then do their part. Both student and parent will have to provide final filing consent, so just be sure that goes smoothly (the student will be able to see when it is successfully submitted). Should be simple for most people.
DH joined FB group for D20ās school and it has been a ride.
Very helpful for logistic issues (reliable private drivers, hotels and restaurants in the area, etc).
Less helpful with the complaint drama that often ensues. A lot of helicoptering, a lot of ādo yāall have any real life perspective?ā (imo) complaints.
DH trying to decide whether to join S24ās admitted colleges FB - he is thinking that might be an after āS24 makes final decisionā action.
I loved those puppy emails too! The lemur Instagram posts are pretty adorable too! I actually did research at the lemur center when I was an undergrad and it was a highlight of my time at Duke.
My D actually turned down a college she was seriously considering based on its admitted student Facebook page. She decided to transfer there a year later, realizing it was a better fit overall than the school she chose ⦠but she didnāt pay attention to their Facebook page after making the decision to transfer there. Sometimes you have to tune out the noise!
My ā21 college Facebook page is pretty chill and had some useful information about deadlines and move in logistics. I also enjoyed seeing photos of the forms.
There were a few over the top helicopter parent posts but not too bad. I think itās mostly useful the summer before move in when everything is a bit new and scary.
FAFSA is having issues for some people including my daughter. When creating an account, she types in the word āKansasā for our state address. A drop down box pops up for her to select Kansas or Arkansas. She selects Kansas and fills out the rest of the page and hits next. An error pops up back on the Kansas line that now says KS instead of Kansas. We cannot proceed past this and have cleared cache, cookies and even tried on another computer. I let them know they have a coding error and it is now case #17222751.
Itās a rough start, but the bugs should be worked out soon. Definitely submit issues so that they can fix them!
I was able to get both kids FAFSAs submitted with no issue. Happy to have it out of the way!
We had this same error. We could not move past the contact info page. After waiting on hold for over an hour, the Helpdesk told me to just skip that page entirely (leave address and phone number blank) and just proceed to the next page. That worked and then in a later step it asked for our address and it worked.
Havenāt submitted FAFSA yet. Planning on doing that tomorrow w/D24!
They donāt let you join the FB page until the 2nd week in May.
I canāt even find it. Is it a private group?
Yes. Williams College Families.
Thank you for sharing @NiceUnparticularMan, @Swimmom2006, @BES_24, @thatpnwparent, @DroidsLookingFor, @coastal2024. Looking forward to trying your recommendations.
S24 has finally submitted the last 3 applications !!! So glad to be done with this phase.
We have not looked at the FAFSA yet. Plan to do it some time this week. We wonāt qualify for any aid but we were told better to do it so plan to do it.
