I thought his initial stood for college football playoff

I’m intentionally ambiguous.

It looked like Ubers would run over $400, the car rental was under $100. I could still change my mind but even with the shuttles I kinda prefer driving too over those distances. Like, we can chat freely and that sort of thing.

Edit: By the way, I believe the new Newark car rental center is open and it does not require a shuttle.

My parents did something similar once (in the time before GPS). My (now)husband had told them to turn at the 5th light, they never saw that light and just kept driving until they got to the next state, at which point basic geography kicked in and they realized they must have passed it.

Even once GPS was around, they managed to do things like calling from a random drugstore 20 minutes away. Why? They had decided to navigate to city, state instead of typing in our address. We just went and fetched them, didn’t want another “drove to the next state” incident.

My mom passed away when D24 was in elementary school, but I’ve been missing her recently due to all the senior year to-do. She was the first to graduate college in her family and education was SO SO important to her. She would have loved to see D24 graduate.

There are lots of possibilities for CFP. Some possibilities in alphabetical order include:

California Farming Productions
Certified Financial Planner
Charlie F. Parker
College Football Playoffs
Colorado Fire Protector
Connecticut Fertilizer Producer
Conrad Family Properties (obviously knows about properties…duh!)
Curried Foods Promoter

Could be many others, too!

The most amazing part of that post is that it’s in alphabetical order.

I don’t think I’ve given an update on D24 recently. Decision had to be made on the Presidential scholarship by Monday, and that was a hard one to let go for her. They were very gracious and sent her a nice note back wishing her well.

She has committed at Virginia Tech, and I can tell she can see herself there. The lab space, the work she sees the students doing, various academic and extracurricular major-related activities. Good food, including Thai, sushi, and “the best acai bowl I’ve ever had”, very conveniently located by her academic building.

I booked a hotel room for move-in ($$$), and she’s looking at computers and planning her dorm room.

She also seems to be applying in earnest now for summer jobs and talked to a couple of potential employers on the phone today. For her generation talking on the phone is weird. She actually drew a picture of a person and put it by her computer so she could “look at somebody” while she was talking (ended up just pacing around the room).

Graduation gift will be a trip of some sort, but where/how long depends on whether she can get her passport sorted in time and what her work/theater schedule looks like for the summer.

I have learned so much in the time I’ve been on CC, and it’s been great to be around others in similar boats headed down the same river.

For those still deciding, cannot wait to hear where everyone ends up!!

UNC-CH is 60/40, to your point.

Yeah, UCLA is 60/39/1, this article indicates all the Florida publics (and actually most privates too) are way up there . . .

. . . in a way this is necessary because we know the overall ratio is around 60/40, and publics are going to end up the dominant factor in that.

Pretty sure College of Charleston is beyond 70-30 now. Approaching 3-1.

That is correct. It is in terminal a. If you fly into one of the others you take the air train into A

Yum! I want this job!

The airtrain doesn’t go to terminal a. There’s a shuttle that takes you to the airtrain from Terminal A. That shuttle also goes to P3, which is rental cars.

If you land at terminal b or c, take the airtrain to P3.

Terminal A, while new and beautiful, is still “stranded” from the rest of the airport.

That part is a real pain. Drives DH crazy because flights change between A and C all the time an he can never reserve parking, nor know where he is going to land on the way back.

I have the same issue. Often fly out of C and return to A. Really extends the travel time. And the shuttles aren’t 100% seamless. I’m a P4 parker by habit and miss my reliable one stop from terminal C routine.
