It doesn’t show anything in the portal other than that the application was submitted.
Are you in a college’s portal? Not common app. You should be able to login to,every college they applied to and check. Every one is different.
Yes I just checked for the one still the results are expected. I do not see anything.
Your child needs to tell the AO that they want their scores considered and ask to have status changed.
She doesn’t want it to be considered. Her status didn’t change but as the scores were self reported on the application, I was wondering if they can still see those.
Ours is always early. I have mixed feelings about it.
This video might be useful background for you. In it, Holy Cross is using Slate, one of the common software providers, for processing applications. What they see in Slate is not in the same format as what you see in the review function in Common App, although the information from Common App (and more) gets carried over:
I think she is fine then.
9 weeks?!? When does the school year end?
FWIW, when D22 applied with test, the CommonApp PDF for some of the schools did not show the test scores imputed, yet the schools did receive them.
Stopping in to say hi after a month away. The new thread looks nice. Love what you’ve done with the place.
Funny, we have winter break in two weeks. We have a shortened Christmas break (tourist zoo time) so that we can take a ski week in late February. Our spring break is in mid April.
Ours ends like the first week or so of June.
D24’s spring break is exactly half way through the semester. It doesn’t match with any other public/private schools in the area, or that of our out of state friends we vacation with.
That March timeframe is much less expensive/crowded if going to the beach. Christmas to Easter (her previous school’s spring break) was a loooong slog of school with no break.
S24 learned tonight that he was awarded an amazing full-ride scholarship! He now faces a difficult decision since he was also admitted REA to another school that he loves.
Congratulations Great problem to have!
You must not have a mid-winter break - President’s Day week
Thank you! We are so proud of him.
He had a very very rough go of high school 3 years ago. I haven’t shared this here before. (Honestly, we thought at one point we were going to lose him.)
We are happy that he is very happy and doing so well now.
If it is a concoction that is hit or miss depending upon mood, you could call it Test Optional.
This just happened for my D24s bestie (enough that I checked your post history to see if I know you!) congrats! I know of at least one great kid that will be there with yours!
Yeah, here too. Mine has been marginally sick all week, but still wants to go to school, so he keeps waking up late and then driving himself. The tardies are adding up; hopefully they don’t get reported on the transcript. It reminds me of Ferris Beuller: “Nine times . . .”
last day of in-person class is done for my kid. D24 said that the senior walk through school was awesome. Everybody cheered and clapped. D24 said she was fine until the 11th grade French students came up to her after to give her hugs & congratulations and she said, “I almost cried then, but I didn’t until I saw French_teacher’s_name and she gave me a hug and then I cried and then SHE cried.”
All of the seniors then went to a different location to take a boatload of photos. Group and individual photos in their caps & gowns. And then group & individual photos of “everybody in their fancy clothes” as D24 puts it. Then there were slightly longer photo shoots for students whose parents paid an extra $25 for a longer photo session (we did that one).
We learned that chivalry is not dead in 2024. One of the couple of senior boys who D24 is friends with saw that she was cold and ordered his buddy (the other senior boy who D24 says “isn’t a jerk like all the other ones”) to give her his coat. (the photos were all done outside, this is AZ and none of us here can handle ‘weather’) D24 thought it was very thoughtful and ‘really sweet’ of them. I told her that it was very gentlemanly of them to do that and D24 remarked, “Yeah, all the rest of the guys were messing around, goofing off, and chasing each other…in their fancy clothes, Mama, it was so dumb.”
I wrote my kid a note this morning and put it on her pillow. It says that DH & I are super proud of her and we’re so excited for all of her new adventures coming up. Has she read it yet?
NO.
COME ON, CHILD! THROW YOUR MAMA A BONE!
