That’s great,! A nice way to start the weekend
“Beneath the waves, the waves, that’s where I will be, goin’ to see the cow beneath the sea”…I envy how much fun that concert will be…fingers crossed for you it will be a spectacular evening, all around!
My understanding is, the 10 year schedule goes back to the previous “whole cell” vaccine, no? The one that was in use before 1990s and worked better/longer? I wish they would adapt the schedule to the TDaP if it wears off after 3 years. Seems like it should be “needed” for everyone. For me this pertussis has been rougher than when I had pre-vaccine Covid with bilateral pneumonia in 2020.
I had pertussis when our daughter was a preschooler. We adopted our children so no one ever told us to get a booster
It is absolutely the sickest I’ve ever been, the doctor had to give me a sedative eventually because my ribs were so bruised from the coughing and I couldn’t keep down any food at all. Just terrible, I can’t imagine a little baby going through that.
And my boy is in at Clemson! Woo hoo!!
Congratulations!!! (I’ve been kinda sort stalking and was hoping for good news for him!)
Me, too. Love seeing good news on here, doing a happy dance for y’all @OctoberKate !!
@momofboiler1 and @fuschiachop - I totally stalk too!
Demonstrating that clearly he is not my child, at 5:56, with decisions to come out at 6:00, he decides to go to the bathroom and take a shower! I was all, wait what? We couldn’t do this in five minutes?
It was killing me! And I knew he wasn’t checking because he can never remember the password to the portal. Sigh. He doesn’t understand how much on tenterhooks I’ve been all day!
Son texted me. Deferred at Clemson. He’s chill about it though.
Congratulations!!!
D25 in at U Tulsa! Now we just have to find time to make it out there for a visit to be sure she’d get the scholarship.
However, my DH got an email today letting us know that her SAT score never got submitted for National Merrit. We got it sent in today but it’s going to be close. Has to be there by December 21. College Board website says it can take up to 10 business days. When she initially submitted all of her things for finalist, there wasn’t a code or way to submit her score (she says). I’m not sure if she missed it or just missed an email with the code she needed. So EEK!
D25 just got accepted ED to Cornell!
You all have been such an amazing, supportive group and couldn’t have imagined going through this process without you all.
Congratulations to your daughter! Which college?
You’ve got me paranoid! We didn’t receive an email from NMSC so no news is good news? I just logged into kid’s NMSC portal and I can see date they submitted their app and date the high school submitted theirs, but no check-box confirming receipt of SAT scores (like college portals do.)
She must be over the moon!!!
All this pertussis talk, I swear y’all gonna drive me back to N95’s when I’m out of the house!
To CAS. She is focused on plant genetics and Cornell is one of the best in the world in that area. She was torn between CAS and CALS, but wanted the options in CAS a bit more.
Edit: just found out that it is CALS. We went back and forth on this a lot and thought the final decision was CAS. Sorry for the wrong info.
I can only assume! She had an orchestra gig tonight and we didn’t get the text until about 6:30. She’s out with friends now so haven’t actually seen her.
Incredible!!! Congratulations!!!
That’s wonderful!! CALS is perfect for her if she’s interested in plant sciences. She can still take classes in CAS. Full disclosure: I’m an alum. They have wonderful research opportunities even for undergraduates. I hope she loves it.
