Great/helpful perspective…had to come back and re-read it after the 3pm mark and portal news.
D25 was just rejected by her ED school. Tough emotions but all she needs is little time to let it settle, mourn and navigate to the next phase over the next few weeks to put in those RD applications. Told her the decision is part of the process not the WHOLE process.
Good luck to everyone, celebrate those wins and embrace the redirection of rejection. Life is long if we are lucky.
Anyone can get RSV. It just is typically a lot more serious in infants and older adults. Other people tend to just think they have a cold and keep trucking. I am really sorry you got hit hard by it. Respiratory illnesses are the worst!
(Younger S caught it at 1.5 weeks old and was hospitalized, so I studied up on it a lot back then. I hadn’t heard of it before!)
Happy Friday night surprise! unexpected EA decision from Clark University for 25. It was first school that wasn’t a likely for them, so was super exciting:)
Congrats! And from a two-kids-in-school standpoint, that would simplify things, wouldn’t it?
Sort of wishing we’d thrown Trinity U in the mix but S25 was feeling weird about Texas…(I have friends in Texas who love living there. I think he’s into cooler weather.)
It really would and I don’t think he can dismiss it, he was also invited to the full scholarship competition. BUT…he has some big reaches that he is waiting to hear from. And he’s my outdoorsy kid so I’m not sure it’s the right fit but he did really like the school, even though his sister is there! They’re so different and doing different things, they would probably never bump into each other.
I really loved that town when we visited this summer. The lobster…the cute coffee place with amazing sandoes…the used outdoor gear shop…happy to live vicariously through someone whose kid gets to go there!
Congratulations, my son is a sophomore at Bowdoin and has had the most incredible experience. He just got offered a fantastic internship today, has make tons of friends, loves his classes and is involved in so many new activities.
Go to Wild Oats Bakery when you are in Brunswick. Family Weekend is amazing. There is a Parent’s Group on Facebook. Please reach out if I can answer any questions.
Thanks! It was his one reach that he applied to (he liked it better than UCLA).
The challenge will now be to figure out how to value it from a cost plus they don’t have an actual Korean program. But it’s so far and away better for film than any of his other choices that it seems silly to maybe turn down. We’ll have to really think about this. But for now, we’re celebrating!
