She did it! Ga Tech EA 1 acceptance tonight! The site had serious delays right at 7pm. 8600 kids logged on all at once!

This is a HUGE stress lifted off of her shoulders now. Still waiting on her ED but Tech is a close 2nd, not to mention the right price (thanks Zell Miller Scholarship).

I love all these schools doing “surprise” releases too. Knowing earlier really helps Kids who may need to add a few RD apps At the end not to mention the constant stress.

Congrats to your girl!!!

I agree on the “surprise” releases. It’s definitely nice to hear a bit earlier.

I posted on the GT thread, but another Georgia Tech EA1 acceptance here! Excited for my kiddo – it’s such a fantastic option to have in hand. This was the most selective school my kid applied to, so yay!

Like @nervousmom8 mentioned, our in-state merit scholarships are great. Virtually everyone that gets into Tech will qualify for the Zell Miller, making tuition free. It’s a hard thing to turn down.

So excited for both our girls!

We haven’t toured Tech since D26 was a freshman – well before she knew what she wanted to study, lol – so I need to get that on the calendar.

We have hosted exchange students for the last 10+ years, and the schools that they seem to know the most are Yale, Harvard, Columbia, and Brown. None of them had really heard of any others. So when college tours were happening, those are the ones they actually wanted to see so they could get swag to bring home lol. we made a few detours to make it happen. Our Japanese student last year was so incredibly excited to get swag from Brown and our student the year before from Italy brought home a bunch of swag from Columbia! They literally spent hundreds of dollars in the bookstores just on stuff for their families

Congratulations to all the kids that have acceptances! D26 finds out on Friday if she gets into her ED choice. Supposedly Friday.. in years past it’s always the Friday before the 15th.

Yay! Congrats! I know you were sweating this one out (though I had a gut feeling she’d get in based on my admittedly limited knowledge of both your D26 and GT, lol). Really happy for you!
