I have found that if I have an account and I put an item or two in the cart and then let the site time out or I simply close out - often I will receive a text or email about it within 2-3 hours
but this is key
if I click on the text link or go back to the account and look at my cart and do the same thing again by not purchasing it, then within 24 hours I will receive a discount/coupon offer.

Had it happen on Eddie Bauer, LL Bean, Famous Smokes (Cigars), Tommy Bahama etc. Multiple times now - it’s probably because they use a similar customer profiling software package etc.

Interesting
I know this is a trick on Etsy but didn’t realize regular stores did this too!

Deferrals are the worst.

D26’s ED1 decision came out an hour ago. She’s at work and not checking till she gets home.

I’m half tempted to drive down there and check myself.

Dude.

Wait, she’s one that doesn’t want to be recorded, right? Then good grief, tell her to CHECK already. An entire forum of parents is waiting on this decision! :joy: :sob:

S26 waiting on Dartmouth ED too. Where did you see it would be Monday?

Hugs, wish it was better news, but its not a No either, I would take it as a positive sign. Hang in there! I am sure she will end up where she is meant to be.

Sending hugs💕 it has been long a journey with your daughter finding a school I really had my fingers crossed for her. She definitely could still get in RD, so I will continue to keep my fingers crossed for you both

It’s been quite a week for us! Last Friday D26 got ‘deferred’ (asked for mid-year grades) from one of her top choices, which wasn’t completely unexpected, but she was obviously disappointed. I was able to remind her that her mid-year grades are good enough where they’ll only help her, so she’s more at peace with it, just annoyed that she’ll have to wait until April to hear. This morning we got woken up to the news that it was a snow day (Upstate NY
brrrr), and she got into another one of her top choices! Not a super prestigious school or anything.. but the first school we visited, and the first school she fell in love with. Now we’re mostly just waiting for Penn State
but with our luck that may be a deferral as well. Alas, we wait!

I’m sorry :frowning: Definitely not a rejection, but I know stings badly. I hope she has time to process and then determine her path moving forward. And I hope has fun at the track meet!

I’m sorry—it’s not a no, but not the answer she was hoping for. Sleeping on it and thinking about what’s next is a good plan. There are many places she can be happy and she has plenty of time to apply elsewhere. Hang in there!
