I didn’t want to like your post for the other bits, but congrats on an admit to one of her top choices!

@2026SwimMom Glad your D went to the restroom and was able to pass along some good news for us! Congrats to your D and your family!

I just wanted to say our good friend’s daughter was in that exact boat with Colby, got in RD and went to Dijon France first semester and had an amazing time.

I still have a good feeling about the other school that asked for her mid year grades (following that thread). The Q1 grades are very strong!

Thank you! I feel the same way. She sent Q1 grades yesterday and will send the full mid-year grades when she has those, and is going to continue showing interest while she waits!

This whole process is such a roller coaster! Congrats to your D26 for getting into one of her top choices! :tada: And fingers crossed for the deferral – it’s NOT a no. :slightly_smiling_face:

I laugh every time I see upstate NY and snow, because one of my kid’s top choices is RIT…but right now it’s currently 37 (no snow, lol) in Atlanta, and we are freezing. :joy:

One of my best friends lives in Boonville, and I always marvel at her pictures!

My daughter has a gymnastics meet at RIT every year in February and we have to park 10 minutes away from the athletic center. The walk is brutal! Even after living here our whole lives, the cold still gets us every year! D originally wanted to go down south for school, I managed to convince her that Maryland is a good boundary, but I’ve been hearing it from her lately with this weather lol.

If your kid ends up at RIT.. stock up on hand and foot warmers! And perhaps a heated blanket..the things keeping us sane up here right now!

A few degrees warmer than that here, but we are freezing here too. It’s been cold and foggy (not usually foggy in this part of the bay, this is something called tule fog) for a couple of weeks now.

Congratulations!!! Awesome news!

Woo Hoo!

Did some research on U of A’s website and IF their National Recognition Program award amount for the freshman class of 2025 holds steady for next fall’s freshman class, then that D26 could end up with an extra $1000/yr off of tuition. So I think she’ll end up with 50-65% off tuition.

When you factor in travel costs, this now makes U of A unofficially and most likely the cheapest option on D26’s list, with the more expensive options likely being ~$13,500/yr more in tuition, room & board.

Something to think about! Definitely puts the finger on U of A’s scale right now, I think. 1 more month to wait until their decisions come out. I hate waiting. I WANT TO KNOW RIGHT NOW!
