It’s my grandcat’s 4th rescue-aversary today. She was so tiny at under a year old and had just weaned a litter. We all love her so much!

@Catcherinthetoast when you say you’re on your way to the highest point in Europe, you mean Mont Blanc, right? I’m just confused because you mentioned earlier about getting up to take the gondola up the Eiger.

I stand corrected. Should have said “Top Of Europe”.

I apparently misunderstood having bought a hat and believing the Swiss guide we hired to mean tallest when I heard top. Should have known I would get caught trying to pull a fast one on the CC community😀 Thanks.

Beautiful place. I was there a few years ago and your lovely photos brought back great memories.
Enjoy!

In May of 2023 we took the gondola up to the summit of Stanserhorn (6200 ft elevation), near Lake Lucerne. It as foggy down below, but the gondola broke through the clouds to reveal a scene we did NOT expect:

It was like the Alps were floating on clouds. The arrow points to what we were told was The Eiger (I zoomed in on it a bit). Just behind and to the right of The Eiger is either the Monch or Jungfrau.

What made the visit doubly cool was that the gondola there is the only gondola in the world where you can ride outside, on its roof! We did it on the ride down and it felt very safe–wall and railings are very high! (NOT my photo–it wasn’t that clear)

Switzerland used to be on the bucket list. Before mobility challenges. It is what it is. I LOVE the photos!

Ha, this made me laugh. Our older Aussie LOVES tennis balls. They’re strewn everywhere. While we’re sitting on the couch in the evenings, we throw balls and the two dogs chase them. The younger one prefers frisbees - he gets one in his mouth and won’t drop it! The older one understands that he needs to drop a ball before we will throw another one. The two dogs also love to play tug of war. It’s amazing how long long sometimes that they both refuse to let go!
