We went for Restaurant Week dinner at USD (as opposed to UCSD or SDSU) where they were celebrating their 75th anniversary with flaming Baked Alaska.
We were in the Dolomites last year about this time. Beautiful.
Just came back from walking the Jurassic Coast in England. Wow.
The water really is this color from all the red in the cliffs and the sand.
The Stacks at Ladram Bay
Landslips happen regularly along this coast. There were parts of the trail where we were diverted inland or we ahd the option to walk along the shore at low tide.
The faint white lines are ammonite fossiles.
Guessing you know about Mary Anning. On the small chance you don’t, she’s worth learning about. I listened to a fantastic audiobook, whose name I now cannot recall!
I do know about Mary Anning. I was all set to read a novel based on her life, but the first review griped about the unnecessary changes to the facts that the author had made. I suspect it’s a fun read any way. I did reread Jane Austen’s Persuasion and Penelope Lively’s A Stitch in Time before getting to Lyme Regis - which has a very nice museum.
The frost is on the pumpkin here in Maine, but the colors are more muted than in the past, still great though (compared to AZ). I wish I could bottle the pine smell. We’re here until 12/5. Maybe some flurries??? Please?
Such gorgeous nature shots! Thanks for sharing!
The growing season is winding down. DW trimmed the kale and it looks like something from a Dr. Seuss book.
I kept mine going through all winter like that one year - here in northern Ohio! Produced some early spring and then bolted.
