I was unable to run for a month due to injury. Today I felt ready and asked Toby “do you want to go for a run?” and he immediately jumped into gear. Now we’re enjoying our post run popcorn and cold beverages

Would you want to share where this is? Lovely and must be warm Thai time of year!

Alamitos Bay, Long Beach CA.

And yes, the water is warm enough to swim sans wetsuit from about May to the end of October.

We had a little discussion earlier of art in the new SAN Terminal 1, which just opened last week. Today’s paper had a full spread discussing the major pieces. Adding here for anyone passing through (mainly Southwest at present) to take a look and better understand the meaning.

So, every time my husband leaves home on a trip, it seems something happens where his help would have been appreciated. I can remember one time, my daughter accidentally started spraying pepper spray in her room and couldn’t get it to stop and then ran and threw it in the bathroom. I can’t recall how we dealt with the situation, but we handled it, and it wasn’t pleasant. Several times, some severe storms occurred and we had to deal with snow and ice problems. One time I tweaked my back, and I could barely get out of bed, much less deal with the dogs. This time, he went to visit our oldest daughter last week, and I stayed home with the dogs and my youngest daughter.

While he was gone, the smoke alarm in my bedroom at my daughter’s place kept chirping once or twice a day and I was afraid it would start blasting in the middle of the night. Our alarms at home have done that a couple of times. So my daughter and I managed to reach it with some semi dangerous tower construction. She unscrewed it and we discovered it had a battery, but also an electrical connection. We FaceTimed my husband and together we decided it most likely was not going to give us heart attacks in the middle of the night because of the electrical connection.

A couple of days later my daughter discovers that the chirp was actually coming from the dogs air tag! We told my husband and he did some research and found out that they were synched to his phone and the chirps were alerting us that we needed to switch the tags to a local phone. So we did that and thankfully, no more chirping.

Pics below were for my husband to see what was going on. No judgement on my mismatched pajamas! My kid is very lightweight, so she sacrificed herself for me and dealt with the alarm by perching on a Dr. Pepper carton placed on a chair.

The other two pics are things I saw while dog walking, a flying saucer - actually a dinner plate sized mushroom that sprouted in one day, and a California Scrub jay, a life lister for me. They are a very pretty blue, but the pic sadly is at the wrong angle to show it.

Way to go @LeastComplicated on figuring out the house stuff!

Can relate - when my husband was away for a few months last year, refrigerator broke (had to buy new), hot water heater leaked and semi-flooded basement, parts of lawn turned brown and died (sprinkler not working). Figured it out (with neighbors’ and friends’ help!).

You can feel good you (and your daughter) managed it! :flexed_biceps:t2:
