Those look to be very interesting! I’ll have to visit if I’m ever in those cities.
The carvings in the dioramas reminded me of the fetishes (a usually handcrafted object (such as a carving) of spiritual significance that is believed to have the power to protect or aid its owner) made by the Zuni Tribe in NM. I have a friend/former coworker who is a fetish carver and a member of a family (Quam) well known for their pieces. I have two of his pieces, one which is an animal that is associated with the meaning of my name.

I have asked for this so many times. I have to assume sometimes people don’t want us to know where they are.

Marilyn, you must have loved doll houses when you were little.
My siblings (who travel a ton) do this often — post a photo with little or no explanation. Eventually they may share location. 
I’m not sure I ever had one. But I learned as an adult that I do like crafting.

There definitely is satisfaction in building and even repairing something you value. It’s great folks are finding things they enjoy with their time.
