Women’s crew practicing this morning

When our son went off to the academy, we donated his erg to ASU’s women’s rowing team. They practice on Tempe Town Lake, an artificial flood-control channel. Who knew you could row in the desert?

Love to watch a crew, but it’s such a poor spectator sport; once they’re past your viewing location, they’re gone. The best spot is the (crowded) finish line but, even then, you’re only seeing a minute or two of the race.

The most touristy restaurant in Old Town San Diego has already started celebrating Dia de Los Muertos. The decorations are essentially the same every year but they do have one pop culture icon altar that changes annually - this year they’re remembering Dolly Parton.

I saw our glass block corner wall in the living room glowing orange-red, so ran out to the street and caught the end of the sunset. It must have been spectacular at the water.
