Why these two schools? Would you consider applying more broadly? You have a lot going for you - one item you did not include is your expected need for financial aid.
Thank you for your responses! And yes, I’m applying for FA, just forgot to mention it
I’m not applying to other schools besides these two because I’m not looking into boarding schools, and these are 2 great schools that allow for day students near where I live. I totally get where you’re coming from, though! Honestly, if things don’t work out, my public high school is also a solid option, so I’m not too worried about if I get rejected.
Yes, I’m actually applying to PDS too! It’s definitely on my list, but I’ve been more focused on Lawrenceville and Peddie since they’ve always been kind of my top choices, and I’m a lot more worried about those two since it’s way more competitive than PDS
In addition to PDS, you might want to look at Pennington, Stuart, Hun, and George as well if you’re looking for day options. All 7 are different from each other.
Because you have a strong public option and are happy enough to land there if you don’t get admitted with good FA, you can look at these somewhat stresslessly. Hearing what they offer can help you figure out what you really want from your high school years.
You look like a very strong applicant! I think it’s really cool that you play piccolo and I would stress that as something unique you could bring to the community (as well as flute of course!). When you have your interviews, ask to be put in touch with the music director of each school to talk about opportunities for flute and piccolo in their music programs.
Good luck!
